As others have already noted this is a good game held back by a truly abysmal puzzle that occurs late in the game.
The atmosphere and weird warping of reality from the beginning up to that particular point is really good. Jumpscares are present but not overused and the focus tends to be more on solving environmental puzzles. The story is decent and makes sense. Graphically and sonically everything works to immerse you in the hallucinations of the sleep experiment.
What holds it back seems to be a lack of playtesting on one of the final puzzles. You can get past the puzzle with a hell of a lot of persistence but what is galling is that you can see exactly what the game wants you to do but be unable to execute it. It's maddening. This really should have been fixed during development or shortly after the first reviews. If it weren't for that puzzle it would be a solid recommend but I can't in good conscience give that as the puzzle is just that bad.
For those who do get the game, I have attempted to provide a video guide showing how I managed to get through the puzzle that I hope will help you:
