Easy to fly. A little difficult to take off. Absolutely brutal to land. About 5 hours of practice and I have about a 50/50 chance of living on landing! But I bought a Hind first and put that on the backburner and I have to say after flying a Huey for a bit and jumping to the Hind, I now get it!

Picked up the Huey when on sale as a way to do something different in DCS. The F-18 is the only other module I own. I was not expecting much as I had never really spent time in Helis. Real life fixed wing pilot and my favorite flying was my Kitfox. Two seat, low and slow flying at about 110 mph. Flying the Huey takes me right back to that. I am really loving the experience. I fly exclusively in VR, and the Huey is a solid player for that. For some reason flying the Huey came fairly easy for me. I have less than an hour in a heli in real life, so that's not it. Don't get me wrong, I can still break one on landing. But that is usually when a jet is chasing me in multiplayer and I have to land fast. Just figured out how to use the guns with AI. It really helps the surviveability. But can scare the shit out of you when the door gunners open up on something. Who knew that flying the Huey could be such a blast?

If you like helicopters, don't doubt it, this module is AMAZING!! So... why a negative review? Because about one year and a half ED decided to update the Huey... but they didn't update the textures, the low res models, the crew comms, the just decided to update the flight model only. And with the new update, now the huey requires unrealistic left pedal, it's so powerfull that it takes off and flies too fast (weird that the huey is flying faster than an apache even with rockets). Fuel compsumtion is not right... bla bla bla. If you look look online, and talk to real pilots, you will see that EVERYONE confirmed that the new fancy avionics are not right. So: If you like choppers, don't douibt it and buy it this module, because it's amazing. And then edit the .lua file named FM, setting from “TRUE” to “FALSE” in order to return to the old flight model which was much better. And please ED if you are going to update the Huey talk with a real pilot, or just... listen to the people in the forums. They are trying to help you.
