Clone Drone in the Hyperdome is a sequel that isn't afraid to take a risk or two, and it paid off. Being a VR-only title causes a bit of friction, but thankfully VR is more affordable to get into nowadays (even though there is a loud group whom hate the Meta/Oculus line of headsets).
Pros:
Solid story all the way around. The game takes the "silent protagonist" approach but does it in a way that's funny and subverts the player. I won't spoil it here, but know that when it was revealed why the character you play as doesn't speak it got a good chuckle out of me.
The characters are all written in a way that makes the world feel alive. The other Looprunners add intrigue and comedy to the locker room with each run, and of course the choice of more robotic "swearing" always gets me to laugh with my favorite character being Kata. Their unique designs and personalities make them stand out and in multiple ways less robotic.
The combat is smooth with minor hiccups (mostly being thanks to weapons just sliding straight through a block) and is engaging with either one-handed or two-handed weapons.
Cons:
There is no way to do custom coloring for the main character: Blink. This is a minor con all things considered, but I think it'd be nice to add either a random color like the previous game or maybe a custom color scheme once the game has been beaten.
No Hammer! This one again is minor, but where is the hammer? The only instance of the hammer in this game is the one used by The Captain which you can't use even if you defeat the clone that has it. Why not just add one for the player to use along with maybe a small one-handed one or a mace?
Bland fire weapons. This one may be more of a personal sight issue, but the fire weapons in this game are pretty hard to spot beyond one of the Looprunners' fire axes. In-game if you find a fire weapon you'd never notice as all that it has is... particles? I'd personally have it just be like the first game where fire weapons are just orange instead of the normal blue.
Conclusion:
Clone Drone in the Hyperdome is what sequels should strive to be. Adding onto the formula of the first game with some risks taken to spice it all up. Hyperdome makes nods to the first game, but stands well on its own which a sequel needs to do. The combat is great with buttery smooth movements and more physics based blocking even though sometimes the enemy weapons just sort of phase/push through your guard. Characters are expertly written and lovable all the way through which makes you want to come back for more. The Skyscrapper even though I didn't mention is basically a solid nod to the first game's infinite gauntlet. The only big downside to the game is the fact it's short, but that's what the side content is here for: to add more replayability.

Clone Drone in the Hyperdome is one of the best vr melee combat games ive played in a while. The combat is really unique and really well executed. The enemies you are fighting move through motion tracking - as in their movements have been pre-recorded by a person in a motion tracking suit, which makes it feel the combat way more realistic. To kill the enemies you must chop off both of their arms/legs, cut them in half or cut into their brain processor. The weapons slice through the enemies like butter (although with the newest update, slicing has more resistance) and theres a big variety. There are 2 "gamemodes", first is the story mode, in which you are trying to kill the Captain, and Skyscrapper, an endless gamemode with randomly generated rooms which get progressively harder the further you get. 9.67/10, would search up Kata r34 to no avail again.

You go too fucking slow to do anything after you dodge or parry a bots attack or they thrust for 20 fucking meters and you cant do shit about it unless you want to play ring around the rosie, teleporting everywhere just to get a hit on them like a little bitch

Not a long game, nor does it need to be. A simple design, killer robots with laser swords, completed to perfection.
Now with the added endless mode, there is all the more chaos to be had. Excellent fun.

encountered a game breaking bug where the boss got stuck inside its spawn door at the end of he longest run and forced me to restart
Edit: this has now happened to me numerous times... if you get killed by an enemy in your spawn room it closes the door with them inside and spawns you outside... if you hit a boss as its coming out of its spawn room with an arrow and they block it theyll get locked inside too

Great game. Before the skyscrapper update my only problem was that it was to easy, but now that has been fixed. It's a must buy for anyone who plays vr games!!!

I would have recommended it before the update but now the most definitely I do.
The game has an easier story mode(Crashloop) and a more challenging action focused mode(Skyscrapper endless). The story isn't insanely riveting but the characters are fun and I think that's what is important in game like this.
It was very satisfying fighting the robots at launch, but quickly after you pass the honeymoon period the edges of the combat actually did feel quite janky.
But now in the "Skyscrapper" update I think a number of changes bump the quality of the experience up a lot. Fighting is smoother, more customizable with difficulty tweaking and importantly much more consistent/predictable.
I feel you need to judge for yourself if this game is for you, the combat system isn't really deep but it is extremely novel and if freeform cutting of robots looks fun this game will be delivering on that front.
The game feels polished at this point and the develepers are bound to update it more, totally worth $26 imo.
