To start off, I can barely call this a game. Going by the dev's name, "La Cringerie", this is not meant to be taken seriously and is a student project. There is but one menu, Press A to start. no options menu which shows no consideration for someone looking to buy this for an old laptop (despite the low requirements, it is just poorly optimized). Again, just guessing here, the Monkies in the crowd are likely their own individual animated models vs one big mesh. Basic gameplay works, but there is ZERO depth, NO strategy. (Oh did I mention that blue monkey has the most god awful keyboard controls ever? Orange plays with arrow keys and enter. Blue plays with QZSD and spacebar; blue should be WASD.
Please, I geniunely like this concept. To justify the full, ludicrously expensive, price of $3.99 USD, there needs to be an options menu. Why is this on steam with the most BASIC feature?
I do have some positives though:
The artwork, music, and stage design is great. If these were all made by the dev themself, they did a very good job. I bought this for two dollars.
I spent more time writing this review than actually playing. Not to mention, I had more fun writing this than playing.
