Could be a good game, but
* Bosses have punctuation, spaces, etc shown but don't expect them to be pressed. Feels weird.
* The hidden letters mechanic feels bad.
* Animations and word swapping takes too long to trigger, so it slows down the game feel.
Generally wayyyyyy too easy for faster typers too.

Fun game to scratch that typing game itch. There are a few more technical enemies that take a bit of time to deal with, namely enemies with their words partially masked and the boss that jumbles letters. The masking enemy might be a bit easier to deal with if the masking didn't reset upon a mistake. The boss is more understandable - bosses should be tricky to deal with.
As for earning money, it feels like a reward for completing the trials would help balance things out a bit. The weapons and upgrades you can buy all feel a bit too pricey for how little money you make in a run. I was rather surprised on my first completion of the trials that I received no reward money for beating three bosses. If we got five hundred, or even three hundred for successfully completing the trials, it might help replayability. As it stands, it feels like you struggle quite a bit in the trials to get very little in return. I certainly hope there are plans for a bit of rebalancing in the future.
Edit: For reference, my typical typing speed in this game is around 90 wpm and it still feels rather tricky to fight off all the enemies in the later stages. Perhaps that's part of the roguelike grind, but currently progression (money making) feels slower than the effort being put into completing the trials.

This is an excellent and addictive typing game with strong elements of tower defense and rogue-like with plenty of hectic action and responsive music and sounds for those that are dopamining. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what develops as the full release draws near.

This is Vampire Survivors as presented by Mavis Beacon.
I snagged this because I love Epistory and Outshine. If this game gets into lore (i.e. The Poet), that would cool but it's not needed to enjoy this game.
I look forward to more days of aggressive typing.

If you spent any amount of time during class on one of those typing pages, not to improve, just to see how fast you can type, buy this now.
The gameplay from a first run seems well thought, really like that you don't have to use the mouse for anything in a run. Also didn't expect bosses and so far the two I have seen are great ideas and well executed.
This can turn into my "Don't know what to play but need to waste time" game of 2025.

a fun way to practice typing! im not sure if im just bad at this game but i cant seem to make it past trial 3 lol. i average 90 wpm (110 w/o punctuation) for context. i dunno, i always end up switching to a typing website instead but also cant seem to put this game down cos it's pretty fun. anyways, would recommend trying the demo first.

My new favorite way to practice typing. Drones and loot pickup modifiers are extremely broken, so some future balance changes would be much appreciated

It's clear to me that this game could be great. I don't think it is in its current state.
To start with, the word choices are odd to say the least. Tried the game in both English and Spanish and it appears that the issue is more significant (but not limited to) non-english languages. I'd say that about 40% of the words I encountered I've never heard or seen before. I'd expect a few, but not these many.
Already mentioned in some other reviews, this game needs to take a look into its accesibility. Hard to read words, overlapping text. Non-clear communication. There are many UIs in which weapon info is shown, others in which its not and its always difficult to know the impact of anything you pick.
The flow of the game itself also looks like it needs some tweaking. I'm guessing the goal was to give breaks to the player in between waves, but this effect is not being achieved. It swings wildly between jumbled word spamming and nothing to do in the slightest. In my opinion it conduces to even more tiring games.
The idea is solid, but I feel like its slightly failing at eveything: The words + typing front, the roguelite front, the tower defense front.

Superb typing game. Really creative, and beautiful to look at too. Am keen to keep playing and watch it reach its full potential. One small issue: I'm 20 hours in and have obtained all augmentations (I'm only through 25% of the levels though). I love the augmentations, allowing you to play a different style every game, so not at all saying it should be harder to obtain them. But I've got 3,000+ coins now with nothing to spend them on... Even being able to spend them on different skins for the game would be cool. Tiny, tiny issue overall though. 9.5/10

I'm a huge fan of rogue-lites and typing games but, unfortunately, I think the design of this game has severe flaws that make the future seem disappointing in either genre. A lot of points are reflected in other reviews about the readability and clutter but my primary gripe are the design of weapons and leveling scheme.
My biggest criticism are some weapons have damage that is completely independent of typing speed. Instead, they're solely aimed via typing. This results in situations where if you type too fast, your main weapon won't finish killing whatever you intended and will move on from the enemy; typing faster doesn't help and will actually impede your success. This results in a gross stuttered-typing in a genre that you typically try to focus on efficiency and smooth transitioning. In addition, individual weapons get experience from getting the kill, so typing fast and well will lock out a portion of weapons from advancing. This results in just a plainly disappointing progression system.
It's really unfortunate because I do think the initial experience is very enjoyable. The starting weapon, sounds, and visual effects are generally pleasing. However, the current systems intended to add further depth are disappointing.
