Incredible game ! Everything about this game perfect. Graphics, music, controls, level design and the story. It is my favorite metroidvania in recent years, with Islets as a close second. Can't wait to see what this talented team of people will come up next. 11/10

A really good metroidvania. The top-down perspective is a breath of fresh air as it adds a new look to a crowded genre. Power ups also add to this refreshing feeling with their creative additions to platforming and combat. The story, presentation, and gameplay are all handled very well. Difficulty is on the easier side, (even on hard mode), but there were interesting bosses with some fun attack patterns. Crypt Custodian stands out and I don't have many negative comments for it. This is a great game that every metroidvania enthusiast will enjoy.

I'm in love with this developer's game design and art direction. The difficulty feels just right, not boringly easy but not unfair. You tend to breeze through almost anything in late game of course, bosses aside, but that can be said of nearly any metroidvania, or open world, or game with those RPG upgrade mechanics, once you get to the point of being super buffed up. The fighting system is balanced and fun, the upgrades, the major ones in particular, are so satisfying, the atmosphere (including the musics, kudos to the dev's brother) perpetrates that recognizable style that I've already liked a lot from Sheepo and Islets, and it's a treat to see how they're still evolving from there. I really hope they keep it up because I'm more than up for anything they drop next.

A very competent and fun 2d top-down metroidvania where you sweep up the afterlife and make some friends. It took me about 11 hours to complete the game and 100% the map. + Stories told in pictures with some sad endings. + Main antagonist easy to dislike. + Good combat system and very fun, customizable upgrades. + Great music and art-style. + Great boss designs with engaging fights! + Great map that's easy to navigate. - Art is limited to max 1440p (it can still go full-screen). - It would have been nice to have map markers that match the type of thing you have to do later. Quietly competent is a good way to describe this. It's fun and it has some things to do after you beat it. (shuffle mode, boss rush, etc) A lovely indie game with plenty of enjoyment.

This game is one of my faves! Great puzzles, special abilities, upgrades, characters, art style, map.. I love it all. The backstory for each character is so sad and cute at the same time it makes me cry. Don't let this review put u off, amazing game 10/10

Okay, so I just finished playing Crypt Custodian and wow, what a treat! First off, the art style is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, it's like a playable painting. The gameplay is just as amazing, super smooth and satisfying. Honestly, I found myself just enjoying the simple act of playing. The story is there, and it's interesting, but honestly, the real star is the gameplay loop. Even on the harder difficulty, it's surprisingly chill. There's no real pressure, just pure, relaxing fun. If you want a game that looks incredible and is just a joy to play, Crypt Custodian is it!
