A really great roguelike, but feels a little dated. If i'm being honest just buy the second one.

I'm sure 99% of people don't read the reviews. So you may not know that Naruto can be a bit harsh sometimes. You may not know this, but Naruto also grew up without a father. In fact, he never met either of his parents and never had any friends.

Based and grug pilled game outside of dark levels, dark levels just suck

I don't really get the hype around Spelunky. I had the first crash to Desktop when I tried to read the very first book for the first time. But that aside I simply can't get green with that game. Its not that I don't like digging games. Steamworld dig is a fantastic game, I loved to play. For me the whole mechanics of Spelunky feel kinda "boring". I don't feel any motivation to continue. It's just annoying to find out all the stuff from what you can lose HP. Yes there is a forced tutorial at the beginning of the game, but in the real game I always feel a little bit left alone. I see that it is the main concept to find out everything. But even though I already lost a lot of lives on that I still can't figure out how deep I cann fall without taking damage. Alltogether I find it simply boring. Sorry.

I'm a little biased since this is the first video game I ever played and played it hours a day when I was younger, but truly, this game is worth the measly $10. This game is a truly spectacular 2D platformer, filled with surprises and a fun challenge. It gives you a journal to keep track of all the discoveries you've made throughout your playtime, letting you look back on all your accomplishments. Fair warning, it will take about a week or two to get used to controls if you mainly play ASWD games, and you will need to play it to get better at it. It is not too easy of a game. It seems silly, but this game really makes you feel like you're a cave adventurer travelling to the depths of hell to escape the cave.

Peak Roguelike to have fun with or without friends, probably one of my best investments ever.

I personally find the level design in the game to be quite absurd. There are far too many hazards that can quickly end your gameplay, whether it's an unexpected arrow trap or a sneaky spider dropping from above. Often, these dangers are so well hidden that spotting them in time becomes nearly impossible. Moreover, the lack of clear visual indicators for these menacing creatures only exacerbates the problem. While I acknowledge that the game employs random generation, it's frustrating when the levels seem to lack coherence. At times, you may find yourself trapped with no apparent escape route, especially if you've exhausted your supply of bombs. Additionally, the hitboxes for both the monsters and your attacks feel unreasonably unforgiving. It's all too common for an enemy to land a hit with pinpoint accuracy while you struggle to even make contact with them. It's possible that my skills are simply lacking, but the game's design fails to keep me engaged. The unforgiving nature of the challenges presented often feels more frustrating than fun,

The hours played here is a lie since I've played hundreds of hours of Spelunky on console as well. This game gave me exactly what I wanted, a difficult platformer that's different every time and full of secrets. One of my favorite games ever. Ideal for those who want a challenge.
