i really like Astebros honestly, the art is top tier, everything is vibrant, the gameplay is freaking good and even surpass most of the metroid vanias i've played recently maniabiliity/maneuvering/fun wise, everything is fluid and nothing is clanky when you move or fight or wtv
really i want to insist on the maneuvrability part, i freaking hate when a game just gives you the most horrible controls you've seen, i've had a lot of games like that in my life and i hate it so much that even a hint of bad hitreg or a faulty move on the game's part is maddening to me to no freaking point
here? only pure joy on my hands, hell even as a dyspraxic i had no problems with getting around, it's one of those games that makes you better and better the more you experiment and play, that makes you have conscious decisions on how to move around and makes you more and more apt at playing by experimenting than making you die and retry for the sake of it (it's not freaking rogue legacy, thank the hecking lord), and when it was time to have some amelioration speed wise (i'll spoil nothing) they manage to make getting around even more enjoyable. seriously the gameplay made me lock in
i loved getting the new weapons and the secret ones, i just hated the bow ffs, even as the best weapon i just did not want that freaking bow (but its only one weapon amongst all the other for the ranger so really no biggie), i really liked the other version of the bow tho (i won't spoil)
i loved the fact that there was multiple characters with multiple styles of fighting, moving, the art direction is one of the best i've ever seen, my favorite character aesthetic wise is the mage all the way
I bought it on sale for 3 times nothing and i genuinelly had fun, i think i'll replay it soon, you won't waste money getting it on sale or not and hot damn you really feel the accomplishment and milestones in playing it, so yeah get it if you want
