This is an extremely good retro game. I'm not sure why the review score is only "positive". This was literally developed on the Sega Genesis and works, as a cartridge, on that system--so there are obvious limitations. It might be one of the best games on the system. Based on the amount of reviews, the sales must be very low, which is a shame. I'm guessing the review score put people off?
Graphics look great. Artwork is generally good. Sound and music are exemplary. Control is slightly wonky at time with the diagonal aiming, but you get used to it (just like almost every other 16-bit game). The Rogue-like aspect is very unique for the system. I have not played the co-op so I can't comment on that aspect. Overall a really good, fun, immersive game that is a pleasure to lose a few hours into.
If you see this and you've played and like this game, take a second to give it a good rating. The devs deserve it.
