It's a fun game, although a bit challenging even on normal if you haven't collected enough lives.

Никогда не играл в оригинал, крайне удивился, игра 2013 года а всё ещё свежо, хотя логично так как это не 3Д игры, но всё таки нужно быть полным экспертом чтобы пройти игру, любителям хардкора советую.

A game similar to Mario and Rock/Megaman. Great music and voice acting (especially Alan Young, bless his soul) Absolute must-have for classic 2D platforming fans.

This game brought me back to Saturday mornings as a child. Seriously amazing job to the devs. Some parts are a bit hard but it's mostly due to poorly explained things.

Cute game. Graphics look nice in this remastered version. Keyboard controls are meh, this game would be much more enjoyable played on a controller. Just a simple game, don't have to think too hard, and a surprisingly challenging difficulty mode as well. Great game you can play with one hand (have a fractured arm so left hand-playable games are nice these days).

A fantastic platformer and even better remake of a classic from the golden age of gaming.

Great game, incredible soundtrack, visuals, and voice acting, but HOLY FUCK does it get hard, especially when you reach the last level. If you value your sanity, do play on the easy mode for unlimited tries. Is it a fantastic love letter to the original game and the series that fans and newcomers will enjoy? Yes! Is it also infuriatingly difficult at times that it makes you want to pause the game, and rethink your life before continuing? Also yes!
TLDR: This game is hard carried by nostalgia. As a platformer, it's got sluggish controls, frustrating mechanics, and an unsatisfying narrative. Too juvenile for adults, but too difficult for kids.

PROS:
➕Nostalgia
➕Great looking sprites
➕Modern improvements - pogo QoL, leaderboards (lol)
CONS:
➖No audio settings and base audio is LOUD
➖Inaccurate/inconsistent controls - character sometimes won’t react to button presses
➖1990’s platforming unforgiving difficulty - Restart the entire level over on deaths
➖Must play multiple times for unlockables
Content (Game world/Narrative) – [5/10]
The game world takes place on a 2D map throughout various environments, anything from a jungle, to a haunted mansion, to the moon. I found the levels to be okay at best and frustrating at worst. There is often no way around taking damage from an enemy or environment, which cheapens the experience. Exploration is limited, but there are frequent secret areas to try to find. Often you have to make your sprite pass through a part of the level to trigger an invisible “Event” that spawns money or a health item. While the usefulness of money as a collectible is debatable, I appreciate the tiny bit of exploration involved.
The narrative isn’t anything special, just a Sunday morning Disney plot - collect stuff to become richer and stop the villains. Nothing deep and definitely aimed at kids.
Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – [3/10]
The gameplay is simple, you have a jump, a pogo, and a swing, the later two being your only attacks. The pogo can also double as a jump and is used to reach higher altitudes. The swing can only be used on objects as you have to be pressing up against them, so you can’t use it on enemies.
The difficulty is challenging, this is peak unforgiving 90’s-era platforming. I am not a fan of overly-difficult games, and platforming, so I’ve steered away from games like Cuphead, but I can see this being in the same realm of difficulty, but for different reasons. I started playing on “Normal” mode, but then when you die you start back at the beginning. Then when you run out of lives you have to repeat the entire level from the start. After dying very early, I opted to restart the game on “Easy”, which is much more forgiving, but almost too easy at times.
I think my disdain for the mechanics here is just simply that they haven’t aged well. I am unsure to what level of remastering the game was done, but the movement truly feels awful and is a big reason for much frustration. So many times I have tried to jump with no response only for the input to not be registered. The mechanics here often require pixel-perfect precision with you having the controls of a Sherman tank.
Graphics (Quality/Technical) – [7/10]
Actually very well done. The sprites are drawn well and the levels look good. While the graphical fidelity is maybe last generation PS3-level, the art is good.
I experienced no technical issues or bugs. Game ran perfectly on my system.
Audio – [7/10]
Oh here is the nostalgia factor. When that opening theme song hits and the ending credits song with the words?? This is going to be stuck in my head for days.
So trying to take off the rose-colored glasses, aside from the catchy theme song, the music isn’t that noteworthy.
I do definitely appreciate the voice acting though, I think it's the original, or maybe from the TV show? Either way, you can tell it's old and remastered, but it still sounds good.
Replay Factor (Longevity) – [4/10]
I would say there is actually a decent amount of replayability here.
First, there are leaderboards for various metrics, small yet interesting implementation for this type of game.
Lastly, there are a ton of unlockables, like music and concept art, that you unlock by collecting currency in the game. There are two issues with this. First, is that you must unlock the next category by spending enough money in total, so I can’t unlock any music until I spend enough to unlock the previous 5ish categories. Second, you don’t get enough currency for all unlockables from a single playthrough, thus forcing replay of levels.
Final Verdict – [5/10]
Ducktales Remastered (DR) is a fun, short, platforming game that is a remaster of the NES game from the early 1990’s. As someone that grew up with Ducktales, playing the remaster with the beautiful sprites and the voices was like sending me back to my childhood on an early Sunday morning watching cartoons. There’s a certain part of this game that will only be appreciated by fans of the series growing up, and even if you are a big fan, I’m sure you won’t appreciate some of its aspects, like the mechanics and difficulty.
Biggest negatives = Controls, mechanics, and difficulty
Biggest positives = Sprite artwork and audio
Overall, DR can be a tough game to recommend, especially if you didn’t grow up with the show. Assuming that you didn’t and what is left for someone with zero ties to nostalgia? A platformer with simple mechanics and a simple story. It's hard to figure out who exactly the audience is for if you have no origins to the TV show - The story seems too juvenile for adults while the gameplay might be too difficult for kids.
So to summarize, I would recommend it if you grew up with Ducktales, but as a platformer game by itself, it is not a great experience. The controls are frustrating, and the mechanics and difficulty make the game too much of a challenge with no great payoff.
Recommend? (Price) [Y/N]

No
For the price, you’d be looking at $15 for about 5 hours worth a full single run. I would recommend getting this on sale if you must.
