30 mins in it feels clunky to play which isnt great. Mechanics feel inconsistent. eg in level 2 you have to jump from a grab point onto an enemy to bounce up to another one to grab a coin. Jumping off and holding the jump button 3 different times, the first 2 times, I didn't get enough height to bounce off the enemy instead hitting it in the middle. The third time, without changing anything, I got enough height to bounce off the enemy, but not enough off of that to get up to the next grab point. If this is an issue in the second level I cannot imagine what it will be like when you actually have to do it for progression and not just a collectable. $50 for an unpolished DK clone or $69 for the actual thing on switch. I know I didn't give it much of a chance but I simply don't want to spend that much money on something showing huge issues right off the bat. Would be willing to try again for like $15 so take that as you will.

Its alright. Just by glimpsing at the game you get what it is going for. This is just straight up DKC Tropical Freeze X Crash 4. It is as blatant as it can get. That inherently is not a bad thing, just makes the game lack an identity. I do like how it transitions from 2D to 3D, really makes the game pop in its visuals and gives it some verity. However my major issue is how the overall game feels to play. They want to keep the movement snappy like crash but also have the weight like modern DK. Which makes it hard to judge how your jump goes especially with the animal buddies. Mix that with some odd collision bugs and hitboxes makes for a somewhat annoying experience. The game isn't inherently that difficult just very finicky. Personally I would recommend other DKC-likes before this, but if you feel like you want a quick romp through a Crash/DKC inspired game, you could go with much worse
