A charming 2d metroidvania. Doesn't hold you hand, and some parts are downright confusing. However, I was always laughing when I figured out what was going on (or even if not) and it isn't that hard to progress if you understand the genre.
Throwing hats in combat feels clunky in a fun way, and it really clicked on the first boss.
100% recommend.

Short and sweet, the game handles "What if" moments really well with the shapeshift mechanic. Balancing the hat system is a cool way to impede your process if you stack too high to go through a doorway, and the choice between punching things, throwing hats, or using a fishing rod as your damage dealers is a nice way to switch up combat or play your preferred way.
Only downside to the game is that it's relatively short, Although no-hit and pacifism run achievements are a great way to add some replayability and encourage speedrunning.

Fun, funny, and perhaps a bit too short to get much use out of its unique gameplay mechanics. There are plenty of opportunities to use shapeshifting for combat, traversal, and secret hunting, but the hat stacking mechanic isn't particularly important. There are a lot of hats, but most of them are either situational or apparently useless, so it's usually very easy to decide what to equip. I had to think about my hats maybe once in the entire game (I was trying to get into a doorway that only had enough space for a single hat) but that's about it.
I like the art and the writing, and the sense of exploration is good. I really just wish there was more, which isn't a bad problem for an indie game like this to have.

very fun game with lots of silly things to chuckle at. short but sweet, well worth spending an evening playing.
you can tell the dev who made this put a lot of effort and thought into a lot of the mechanics.
boss fights, hat stacking blocking you from going certain ways, nice art, fun music..
overall would recommend.

I was promised a mildly amusing game and I got a mildly amusing game. just a quirky lil' fella
There are some bugs that need ironing out but the game released only hours ago so what would you expect?

This is a fun, very short microvania-like with a mix of dark and goofy humor and some novel gameplay ideas, can absolutely recommend it.
There's only a single traversal ability upgrade, which is why I prefer to call this metroidvania-like.
As well as that, while areas are quite open, it's not like there are a plethora of bosses and different orders to go about everything in. There's a 'correct path' to advance things.
Your main attack is very slow to start with (About a one second delay), but that will change during the game if you stick with it for a bit.
Hats are an interesting mechanic. If you equip too many of them, you might be too tall to fit through doorways. Some doorways are taller than others.. there's a lot of potential with this mechanic and I feel like Omnigon is over so quickly that the potential of it is never fully realised.
The other interesting mechanic is the ability to turn most NPCs and objects into a second version of themselves.
The map is quite detailed, it shows the layout of individual rooms.
Controls are rebindable.
Omnigon was fun, and when I finished it, I wished there was more. I'd have liked this game to have been expanded to the size of something like Haiku, the Robot; that could have truly been great. Unfortunately, it's just a fun, short, little game.

There's a minigame (Squares of Omnigon) Which has a large white square covering part of the screen making it hard to see, as though part of the image isn't loading correctly.
There's one room where it appears to be possible to lock yourself out of. It isn't necessary to beat the game, but it would have been nice to explore that.
