Hey, Flipper here. I've got this game that I bought from you that need a good spit-shine, know what I mean? I mean this game has got all kinds of grit, grime, grease, I can't even see my face in 'em when I'm playing, know what I mean? I mean I'm looking at this gane right now, ya hear? I'm seein' spit, crud, juice- Hey, who are you? How did you get in?? Hey, now easy there. Get away! Get away! ...

Kind of a cozy horror experience, no lie. Like a fun mallsoft version of SCP stories with cursed jello, and trolls that can inflate themselves, and singing mushrooms.

Its an interesting premise and cool gameplay, definitely not seen anything done like this before. I wasn't a fan of some of the times where the game would test you and you'd have to diagnose problems from memory, but that was a minority of times :)

This game is incredibly well thought out and honestly fun - it feels like you really are working at a slightly strange call center. It's also somewhat challenging, some of the descriptions make you stop and really think about what the caller might actually be referring to. Overall 10/10, definitely recommend, and bundle with the DLC if you have the money, it's super worth it.

A game that provides the comedy of being bad at your job, without the consequences of being bad at your job.

Cool and short game based on the fantastical premise of receiving a promotion after a week at a new job.

I love what this game is going for but it has major problems. A lot of the puzzle solutions rely on assumption, guesswork, and binary true or false scenarios. Like, the caller will describe a threat, leave you with misinformation, and then the answer won't include any other hints or details that the caller gave, you are just supposed to throw out hints you get and go with some guesswork answer. Other times they will give you word for word the description of the solution and it makes me roll my eyes at how obvious the answer is. I also do not know if the game has a time limit on calls. I played through the full game and the DLC under the assumption I am under a time limit, and if I don't provide an answer fast enough then I will automatically lose. Issues like this could easily be solved through play testing. Rewrite dialogue to not include blatant misdirection and guess work, include a timer on the calls or some clear indication of a PAUSE to let the player know if they have a time limit, maybe rework the functions of the game to let you pick 1-3 solutions, ordering them from most likely to least likely, and score you based on that, so you don't just win or lose because you had to guess. Maybe award bonus points for each potential answer that could have been correct. If there was a neither positive nor negative rating option I would opt for that, but the game left me annoyed far too often so I'm unfortunately leaning negative. If you are okay with trial and error puzzles and being misdirected into overthinking a puzzle based on the clues provided, you might enjoy this.

Home Safety Hotline is oozing with the kind of creativity and charm I love. The Fae Lore spin on analog horror is an amazing hook and it feels satisfying to click through entries and internalize the facts so I can answer callers accurately. I especially loved clicking through the art book after the end, and reading the dev's thoughts! I wish there was more in-game developer commentary in my games! I'm going to immediately go on to the dlc, and finally get to Night Signal since it's in my library. Keep up the great work guys! I'll have my eye on you.

It was great at first, but due to the linear nature of the game (I was hoping to have more varied calls and not just the same ones for every play through) there really isn't much incentive to read all the entries outside of your own curiosity. The world building is great and the weird factor is high, but the ending just falls flat, kinda goofy given the lead up with the Sunday shift.

This is a fun little game, for sure! If you enjoy solving puzzles and reading about weird little fictional creatures and such, I think you'll enjoy it! The gameplay stays basically the same through its short runtime, but if you enjoy reading about all of the stuff it presents, that isn't much of a problem at all. I like it! The dragons in this game get a rating of 0/10, as there are no dragons.
