What the game has to offer:
Story mode is about 30 minutes long give or take (I honestly thought we were gonna get episodes each season)
Arcade Mode (we got an Endless Arcade Mode for Season 1 but it has no leaderboard)
Rank
Casual
Lobby
and that's pretty much it in terms of content
I was gaming since the 80s and this is just so barebones man... things could have been done that doesn't require a lot of programming, basic stuff for casual players to stay interested for example:
The parasitic, mind-controlling aliens from the animated series called 'Sequids' remember them? could have done a space invader mini game with them trying to reach earth.
a tower defense mini game trying to hold off The Flaxans
Side-scrolling beat them up which go towards Character Mastery
Or have Community Factions where you work together or against each other to take on Boss characters, Other Factions etc etc etc
Online is horrible not mainly the devs fault but there is an alarming amount of players on that McDonalds wifi (as the americans would put it) for about every 20 Rank matches I played, 1-0 players ran smooth... let that sink in for a minute. (im wired into the modem whereas some people are wired into a wifi extender)
After talking to a friend of mine about the game, i've decided to delete it... im having way more fun with older games like Blazblue Cross Tag Battle that had way more content and cost less

I had left Invincible VS in middle of last season because I had issues with some of the balancing in this game, although before this patch I thought the game was very fun even with it's flaws. I saw season 1 release and I thought "oh boy, new season means new patch notes and more fun stuff." Dude how did it get worse? How did rex not get nerfed into oblivion? why did Immortal release like this? wasn't this whole game meter/combo management? why does a DLC character bypass this system and just say, "Yeah, I'm playing my own game," I wonder if anyone did ANY Q&A on this patch because holy. Don't even get me started on free armor on moves that shouldn't have it. I also lost my DLC cosmetics because I'll go fudge myself.

probably the least fun ive had playing a fighting game in a long time, it incentivises running away and most matches at a higher level end up as a really boring to play and watch mess of waiting for assist to recharge to begin pressure or your opponent walking back or running away till you decide to advance. ranked is a joke where you get cued with someone with at least 2000 more points than you, and the few matches that you do get that are supposed to be at your skill level end up being people who rage quit instantly after losing once or people who have made new accounts specifically to to farm lower skill players. you also only ever see like the same 3 teams of characters who abuse cheap moves or tactics like robot or eve for example. i think that this game unfortunately will not have a long life span

The game is okay. Controls are tight and responsive, and the games visuals are very readable despite the games fast pace.
Unfortunately, that's about all the good I can say. $50 for the base edition is way too much with how little content you're getting. The fact that the campaign can be beaten in under two hours is already rough, but that's only made worse by the fact that it feels like the opening chapter to a story that ends just as things start getting interesting. Then there's the microtransactions. $5-10 per skin is way too much when the base game is already lacking content.
The online experience does very little to make up for these negatives. Half of the games you get will end in a disconnect. There's no punishment for it, and with the game bleeding players, the matchmaker struggles to find players of relatively equal skill, which only exacerbates the disconnect issue because of how many matches are just one sided stomps.

76 players right now only two months after release. i was really hoping this game would be a main stay in the FGC as the combat while a little unbalanced was still pretty fun. I have no hope for this games future and I know for a fact it will die out even after all the DLC is released

I don't usually do reviews, but as a veteran fighting game player who has won many tournaments, I felt like I need to speak on this game. This is such a breath of fresh air. Great universal mechanics that allow counter play at every turn. On the surface the characters seem a bit shallow since they only have 3 special moves, but the variety the devs squeeze out with those is insane. Its probably the most balanced fighting out right now since the mark adjustment patch.
The biggest cons in my opinion are:
1. Single player content - The story mode is an hour long and there are no combo trials, they have said that more modes are coming in future updates.
2. Online - The netcode is serviceable, definitely not the worst but far from the best.
They only have 3 online modes, Ranked, Casual, and Lobby. The lobby mode has no voice and extremely limited text chat which I believes does hurt community formation. They should add and standard text chat and some sort of battle hub or free play type mode.
3. UI - This might be a nit pick. This game is very clearly inspired by MVC3, which is awesome and probably why I enjoy the gameplay so much, but the UI looks way to similar to MVC3 and gives off ps3 Xbox 360 vibes.
Conclusion - If you like fighting games buy this game, if you like Invincible buy this game.

Super fun fighting game that's really easy to get a hold of. Even my friend who plays no other fighting games can hold their own against someone with hundreds of hours in stuff like Tekken and MK. It's really well designed to be easy to learn, but has enough depth that when you get deep into it you can do some crazy ♥♥♥♥. The story mode is a bit short, but surprisingly good and better choreographed than the show.
My main complaints are the connection issues (which they say they're focusing on fixing now) and bad characterization of Invincible himself. His supers and ultimate don't really seem to reference anything. Everyone else is excellent though.

I really wanted to like Invincible VS, but it just doesn’t come together. The gameplay feels shallow and repetitive, with very little depth to keep you engaged beyond the first hour. The combat lacks weight, the progression is minimal, and the overall experience feels more like an early prototype than a finished game.
If you’re a fan of the Invincible series, the novelty wears off fast. If you’re not, there’s even less here to hold your attention. Right now, it’s hard to justify the time, let alone the price.
