I've had a fun time so far playing this game. It's like a definitive version of an old school Flash tower defense, though I still like Gemcraft a good bit more. I wish you got tokens every time you leveled up rather than when you beat a new level, and I've had a few inexplicable crashes. The most recent one happened in the middle of a level, and starting it up again showed me that the game automatically saves your wave progress but not the XP you get, for some reason, so I ended up losing out on a full level up, which is kind of annoying. I hope the developer looks into this, as it's a little frustrating to lose out on progress because something happened in the background that I have no control over. I also wish the upgrades were a little more specific to individual towers, like being able to upgrade specific towers rather than blanket stats for a group of them; something like an increase to the number of bolts a lightning tower can produce at one time would be awesome, for example. Beyond those gripes, I like basically everything else. The graphical aesthetic is great, the music is enjoyable, and I really like the more open level layouts that let you really create a winding maze the enemies have to go through. Definitely worth $5.

It's a very simple TD game. It has a reasonable difficulty level, but not a huge amount of depth to it. I did encounter one crash in ~2 hours, which was fine (the game autosaves progress) except it lost the meta level progress I'd accumulated which is already kinda slow to get. Otherwise no technical issues. Perfectly fine at the price, but nothing stand-out.

The game is alright but I find the grind for level ups just to barely complete a stage annoying like I get the game can't be easy but sometimes it is more difficult than it should be nearing levels of impossible without grinding levels getting upgrade tokens for the skill tree to give you a smaller increase to your chances of success even turning down the difficulty to normal instead of hard makes little change. I have 6 hours on this game and only got to about stage 7 and only perfected about 3 stages that seems like too much grind to me while only reaching xp level 10 and not every level up giving you upgrade tokens. Overall 4/10.
