So I just got game after trying the demo. The game has promise. BUT the fact you can controller the hovercraft with WASD but not the character is incredibly annoying. Since some of the pathing is not the best having WASD would make moving around a lot easier. Plus there needs to be a button you can push that will let you auto attack the nearest enemy. Having to click on them or hold it is just a pain. Also needs to have options to turn the sound and music down or off. This is just the few things I noticed with the demo and they still exist here. So hopefully the game gets some QoL and I will play this a lot. Just little to jank right now. But if you can handle the jank better than me, I do recommend this game. It is interesting. Just had issues right now.

Puppet Seed is a 3rd person action rpg, where you and up to 3 AI companions struggle with pathfinding and occasionally roflstomp some badguys. The music is nice, the graphics are decent, and going around and "collecting" the different companions is fun enough...though the map is quite small, and there are few variations on the companions, so you'll see everything pretty quickly. That being said, right now I do not recommend the game; however, with a couple of changes it would be decent (idk if feedback should go in the review? will move/delete upon request): 1. click-to-move is an abomination in a 3rd person game; need WASD and jumping/falling; game is borderline unplayable as-is. 2. delete the hovercraft, it's implemented so poorly that it's insulting...and doesnt add anything to the game that would make fixing it be worthwhile (adding a grappling hook/flying instead, would make the ridiculous terrain much less aggravating). These are some things that I think would elevate the gameplay (with the above changes) to "Very much worth playing": 3. Enemies are terrible, like...aside from the crazy giant enemies, everything else is a joke; the demi-gods die to 2 attacks. I'd suggest fixing the enemy gear to equip scaled gear (I cant be sure that's the problem, but it seems like all enemies have lvl 1 gear always...my lvl 7 gear is ~10-20x stronger). 4. Either change the PC's role in battle to a commander/buffer/support, or fix combat -make the PC auto engage/autoattack/autoskill, or create a combat system (jank is worse than no combat at all). 5. the lighting is bad, not to the level that I can't tell what's going on; but the game is consistently very dark, even during the day...wtb brightness option, or just make the game brighter; I wanna actually be able to see the details on my companions. 6. graphics/sound options; needs music/sfx/voice sliders, needs a FoV slider...anything else would be a nice bonus, but those 2 imo should be mandatory in every game. 7. Character/enemy models; the non-humanoid models are cool, and more would be nice...the humanoids though? I think that it greatly detracts from the "companion collector" aspect, when every humanoid companion is identical, the demi-gods have their unique skills, so they're worth grabbing, but stat variations and different colored eyes arent enough. 8. Similarly, the visual customization options are...no-so-great, I'd love for there to be character alteration via morphs or something, and/or unlockable/existing options to change the base humanoid models. 9. Mobs should either always exist in the world, or spawn in at a much farther range. 10. There should be a ton more mobs, actually finding badguys to fight takes forever, and the amount per area is very small...either drastically increase the amount of overworld spawns, or add in some dungeons/fortresses that're full o' badguys. 11. companions should automatically teleport to the player after getting far away. 12. esc key should close all windows, or the F key should actually close all windows (it doesnt work on shops); the companion list UI...idk, could use a "favorites" option? and the auto summon with "R" should spawn the specified 3, and not just the 3 highest level.
