An excellent little vampire survivor style game, played it offline a bunch (work trip) so my hours are lower than they should be, but I've beaten Hardcore (lvl 10) and gotten a bunch of the weird upgrades!

Awesome take on the BULLETHELL genre. Feels fresh and has it's own personality. Love theart. Don't get me started on the soundtrack... wowie!

The game is pretty weak compared to the previous ones in the series. It is monotonous and gets boring very quickly. The combat is the same from level to level - run and twist the mouse. That's all. It is very sad that the creators have not made something more diverse and exciting.

While the basics are good it lack a lot in the long run. The update didn't add much, be it in term of content or fun. You take what you had before, add not so new idea and say : "Looj the game is as good as new". Spoiler : nope. Same game, same mechanics, same lack of fun compared to before the update. Survival is a 10 min one max I would say because it soon become elite arena and you're unable to kill anything due to lack of evrything, damage, tanking, money, ... The dev never looked at what has been made elsewhere and if they did didn't want to bother taking a good idea or two. But just toning the difficulty of survival would be a huge plus. Otherwise, you get new achievement if you already did the game but not each and every one you should. I already upgraded every old weapons to level 3 but had to do most of them once more. Also there is very little combination that can work. Many are just not good enough (looking at you summon and food). So variety is not something you're gonna want to try, you find the one build that work and pretty much only use this one for every level. The only reason you're gonna experiment is for achievement. The bes of the best would be if an ennemy comes into close quarter and attack you, even if you are miles away, you're gonna take the damage. It's ok for normal levels but in survival it's what it even harder not that it is easy o begin with but still. Too bad, overall good idea but lack depth. Plus the game can have a hard time when they try to flood you with little mobs.

Several glaring flaws with this game - Barely any metaprogression at all which is a huge issue since this game is incredibly repetative - Deckbuilding is just annoying and tedious, when i play Action Roguelikes i just want to jump in and play, not sit there and edit out items that will appear/not appear and swap that between runs. This also makes you use less weapons since you'll just edit out the bad ones and spam the good ones if you want to win. - Weapon design is just lazy and a lot of them felt like filler just to pad out their Deckbuilding system, One weapon shoots bullets, one shoots bullets at a higher rate, one shoots bullets that are slightly different shape - Weapon balance felt incredibly poor - The Store upgrade system is just bad game design, you are never excited about getting a A or S tier weapon, because you'll just be swimming in them eventually from upgrading the store the further into the map you go. And if you get a A tier weapon early, that wont nearly be as effective as you'd think since the way to level up weapons in this game is buying duplicates, so'd you'd have to win the lottery multiple times to even feel as if you're being lucky with getting A or S tier upgrades early game. It feels like such a lazy way to control the players powercurve, and you know what this does in every single game developers do this? it ends up making every single run feeling the same since you won't have runs that stood out because of luck. - Some levels basically REQUIRE you to play with certain weapons, im already playing a Action Roguelike where pretty much the only gameplay part is moving and choosing weapons, and now you are gonna take away the choosing weapon part too? - You die way too fast the moment stuff start to reach you - Controls are god awful with Controller I'll be requesting a refund for this one.

Should have returned it from the start, but I wanted to give it a chance because it looked good. Art is amazing, but the art doesn't really matter on a game like this where you're not really able to see what's going on with the enemies most of the time anyway. The important part is the gameplay, and the gameplay is really boring on this one. Bonus points for trying new things, but the design choices really ruined the game overall.

Im about 4 hours in and im having a lot of fun in a 5 usd game. I have no idea what these negative crack addicts are smoking and i don't even like deck building games.
