It's pretty good for such an old title, but the genre has definitely evolved since then.

Among the best graphics out there. Flocks of birds, unnecessary for the game - but beautiful and quite realistic. Meandering deer who die because...for no relevant reason. Their virtual time was up, I guess. I wish I could interact more with this beautiful environment. The playstyle is a little unusual, but I got into it and it's quite fun. Different buildings are needed as your people advance. And it's heck trying to battle the barbarians while the stupid populace is rioting because of lack of food or something stupid like that, they don't know how good they got it, next time I won't bother saving them, ingrates.

Pretty much a fun game if you enjoy messing around with stuff and want to screw around with the game.
