I've been enjoying this game quite a lot. It gets you straight into the action, and if you die, it's no issue because you can get right back to it without any unnecessary interruptions. The difficulty is appropriate: tough but not frustrating, and you'll for sure notice your skills improving, making the game rewarding. It's pretty straightforward: improve your skills, and you win.
I don't usually go for fighting games, but this one does a good job of getting you to understand the mechanics. I'll probably play more fighting games in the future and recommend this one to other fighting-game averse players.

i decided to give this game a try and for some reason, it felt better this time around in ng+. i doubt any updates or anything were done but the game felt very stiff when i was i ng+ and i nearly finished but refunded and didn't look back. saw it again and picked it back up and it felt much better. maybe because i played other lower budget games in the meantime or something im not sure but i liked it and was able to finish it happily. this isn't a game i would replay despite the aspect that's there (simply because there are other games that have this type of adaptive difficulty that are more rewarding). i wouldn't have recommended this game before but if you get it on sale especially when it drops really really cheap, i recommend checking it out if you're interested in challenging combat or maybe scratching a sifu itch.

I loved the idea and the execution is perfect. A game that truly embodies the idea of git gud. The only way to win is to improve you skill as a gamer, there is no grinding no cheesing just you and the enemy and your skill is the determining factor.

Great game, with very polished combat. In a world were AAA studios are seemingly incapable of releasing finished games it is surprising to see an indie studio release a well polished game from the get-go. While the game does not look the best remember that not all good games look good and good visuals don't mean good gameplay.
The game doesn't hold your hand and help you win, it lays it's rules from the beginning and leaves you to overcome it on your own without also trying to cripple you. It's clear at what the bosses can do and what you can do while also managing to throw a few surprises every now and then. Which makes winning so more satisfying.
The only thing I wish it had was more bosses and more weapon variety, you only get to fight using hand combat.
This is definitely a great game and I did have fun playing it. I would recommend it to anyone who loves to be challenged and especially if you enjoyed a game like Sekiro.

What an awesome game. While I expected the game to be another half baked indie game made on unreal I was intrigued by it when I saw the game on reddit, and it really surprised me by how solid and polished the game is.
While my pc was able to run the game smoothly the visuals are not what the game tries to sell, but it does sell you a solid gameplay.
By no means is this an easy game, it is difficult and the only way to progress is to learn and get better at the combat but it is extremely fair, and the moment it "clicks" the game instantly becomes so much fun.
From being a punching bag to being literally untouchable. Just as if you've achieved ultra instinct like Goku.
For me the game truly shines with the New Game +, because by then you've became familiar with the bosses but it still manages to throw at you new attacks that keeps the fun going.
And I don't want to spoil it to anybody but I absolutely love the surprise at the end of the second play through.
The game is fun and if you like to be challenged you will definitely enjoy this game.

I enjoyed it, it's difficult at first but once you get better it becomes a breeze and kinda hypnotic to fight while dodging all the attacks which also makes it highly replay-able.

Ok, I wanted to hold off making an opinion until I finished the game.
First, the game is immediately difficult from the first minute; if you get into it with the mentality that you will breeze through it, you won't. It does not hold back or at least I thought so, because there is a good reason for it's difficulty,
It tells you how to win from the beginning and is only difficult if you decide to play it like any other fighting/action game with button mashing everything. And you will win easily once you get a little better until you finish your first play through and start the next then you will see that the game was truly holding back and this becomes more apparent with every New Game+. The bosses don't just inflict more damage, they learn new longer and faster combos and the only way to beat them is if you accepted the mechanics of the game.
The main character does not gain any new skills during the game so by the end will find yourself beautifully dodging fast attacks like they are absolutely nothing which is rewarding in it self because you manged to do that with your real life skills as the difficulty of the game does not decrease nor does you character become better the only thing that improved was your skill.
Second, the game only has 3 bosses which isn't a lot but also with the new combos they learn with each play through it makes it highly replayable.
Ultimately I enjoyed it, and if you are put off by the first boss that does not mean that the rest of the game sucks because you are only getting better and by the end you become as the description says "Untouchable". The game wants you to reach that level but won't hand it to you.

Edited review : I figured I should update my review since I "finished" the game. Finish as in defeating the 3 opponents both in new game and the 4 NG+ opponent variants.
I actually enjoyed the game quite a bit, to the point I'm still occasionally playing it and beating all the opponents in one sitting from time to time. I think I beat the game more than 4 times now.
The combat is pretty solid, and it became quite enjoyable once I learnt to accept the game for what it tries to be. Ironically, the first enemy is the hardest and most annoying than the others even now, while the other opponents are much more balanced in their difficulty. That's an L from the dev, making him too difficult from the get go.
Wish the game had more opponents, weapon usage and customization rather than just hand to hand, but I that's gonna be expensive for the dev so I can understand why such content isn't included. Probably the dev's first game as well, so I'm not gonna be harsh on what the game "could" be. It still nailed a lot of things right.
Overall it's a great game.
Old Review :
Pros :

Game loads quickly and head straight into action. Great if one wants to open the game up for quick short play sessions.

Animations are looking fluid and neat.

Graphics, decent. The in-game graphics feels better than what the screenshots show. I originally felt the screenshots to be somewhat dark and dull but the graphics look pretty good when actually playing.

Gameplay loop is fun and straight forward. The game rules is all about timing the dodges and the counters. Even if dead, we can retry immediately without interruptions.

Cons :

Game is difficult from the very beginning. It took me so many tries to beat the first dude, and I'm not sure if I can even beat the second sword guy. There is no option to alter the difficulty in the settings as well.

Enemies look cooler than the protagonist. It would've been great if beating an enemy unlocks them into a playable character. So far I see it's a fixed character combat game. Feels like a missed opportunity about unlocking them into playables.

The gameplay forces you to play only defensively. As in wait for the enemy to attack, dodge and counter them. Trying to play offensively punishes you to the point it's not a viable play style.

The character simply stops moving completely in certain moments, for which I get confused if it's by design or it's a bug. This is probably a bug which could be fixed by the dev.
Overall, it's an enjoyable game without any major issues. The difficulty of the game might put off some people, but if one likes difficult souls-like games this might be right up your alley.
