I enjoyed playing this game. The puzzles were fun and it was neat to have other human players to interact with.

I wish i could recommend this game, but you can't recommend something you can't play! I bought Sokfest a while back, and being a fan of Sokpop in general, was looking forward to playing it. However, I get the dreaded black screen when I try to launch the game on my M2 Macbook Air (Monterey). Tried all the usual go-to fixes, and have tried contacting the devs through multiple channels but have still not received any response- and its been months. I get that these devs focus more on creating games quickly and frequently--always looking ahead rather than behind--but you are still responsible for the quality and playability of the games in the rear-view too! The worst part is that it makes me not want to buy any more Sokpop games, since they seemingly have no interest in the public responses and requests written by customers/players. I expected more. If i ever do hear from Sokpop, and presumably they fix the issue...then I'll gladly change my review. Not holding my breath though!

A lot of fun and great stress relief. Reminds me of Nintendo's games, if those are your thing. Plenty of collectibles and an upbeat atmosphere.

A really cute and short game about attending a festival and meeting all the other SokPop characters!
I would recommend this to the die hard Sokpop fans.
There's also a neat little online chat section so you can chat to other players.
P.S Broeder you rock!

Sokfest is a really nice little Sokpop All-Star Party.
It's essentially a point&click adventure and a brilliant idea to celebrate 100 games with lots of meta stuff around the Sokpop team and library. Takes around 2 hours to complete. I enjoyed it very much!

The ultimate SokPop collectathon, celebrating 100 games from the collective by befriending a character from each game, including the developers. It's very heavy on the "inside jokes", it helps if you played their previous games, about 70/100 in my case - people think AAA games are expensive, try being a SokPop fan for several years, it adds up fast XD. I don't subscribe to their service, I mostly buy them individually, and I don't mind, they can justify that $5 range just on the charm value alone, and in general, I think the quality of the average release went up a little in the last year.
You can 100% the game in about 2 hours with no help, although it has an online component so you can see other players running around, you can chat and ask for help if you get stuck. As far as I can tell there is no player-to-player interactions, except maybe stealing certain quest items that will respawn after a short delay. It seems like the game will give you one of the few preset models for the character, I do wish you could fully customize it instead like a smurfy, which would make it a bit more immersive. It's probably the best version of this game that they made, there are many SokPop games where you collect objects, but they are not as self-aware or endearing, it feels like all of the SokPop nostalgia was leading to this one game. just oozing charm and being extremely playful with the dialogue.
The puzzles are not complicated but very creative at the same time, you can change into different characters that may interact with the world and specific individuals, I won't spoil it, but overall I think the game managed to be very thought-provoking in terms of figuring out how to progress.
Pros:
(+) This game is very charming, especially if you have been following them for many years, admittedly it feels like a giant reference, but it's very self-aware, very playful, and very interactive - I love how the devs make fun of their game dev process. You finally get to meet all of the forgotten characters in one place, and sometimes with a hilarious portrayal, some of the inside jokes in this game are pure gold.
(+) I thought the puzzles were very creative for the most part, while also not being too difficult. I like how the dialogue is often designed to give you subtle hints, you kind of have to pay attention and think outside of the box. You can also morph into different characters/objects to access various areas.
(+) The game is roughly 90 minutes to 2.5 hours, which for a SokPoP release is arguable twice the normal length, as long as we not talking about those SIM games, so it feels like they put a bit more work into it. It has a fun collection feel, and it's not too hard to 100% it.

Nitpicks - you can escape this game in a few places, if you turn into the ant in the sewers for example, also I don't think that Dino quest registered as completed. I do wish you could customize your first character, feels like a missed opportunity. Would have been nice to have some player-to-player interactions, maybe some mini-game tables like pong or something.
Overall Thoughts: 8/10
While a nice collection game to play blindly with no SokPop experience, it's very much a game for the fans and probably the devs as well, I think we all had a good laugh here having all of the niche characters celebrating the SokPop legacy. I thought the game was self-aware in a very playful way, just the overall experience was extremely charming, so based on that alone I just had a very good time.
