If you're not playing Seeka, you're playing the game wrong. I came here to dodge, not aim!

The third game in Friendly Fire's catalog drops with a bang! Little Elf Tanks boasts charming graphics, catchy music, and intuitive design! The gameplay feels really smooth and the control scheme natural and easy to pick up. I've played just the first level and the game has already left a positive impression on me, and I can't wait to play more! Edit: I've completed a playthrough and can comfortably say I'm impressed with this game! The time per playthrough is short, and there are multiple characters to encourage replayability, which is something I like to see. The graphics in the game use a simple and charming art style that is pleasing to the eye, with a great use of colors to pair with the game's whimsical themes. The animations were smooth and lively, giving a great sense of action on the screen in each of the levels. The music was catchy and did well to set the mood in each level. Although the game isn't narratively deep, the foreboding sense of fighting against a powerful, invading force could be felt in each composition. The gameplay, again, was smooth and intuitive, with well designed levels that tested the player in scenarios that built upon previous skills, and allows for folks with different playstyles to experiment and make their respective playthroughs unique to them. Definitely looking forward to the next title from this studio!
Overall Review!
+ good; - hmm; = neutral
Playthrough
= I played as Axis! I enjoyed the melee aggressiveness of the character and the bomb being used as a projectile shield for his character.
Aesthetic
+ The art style of the elves is cute! It gave me a good feel of the characters although I wished I saw their character portraits more in the game. + The variety of stage music + The storybook cut scenes were cute lol made it for a real fun experience. - Oh I do wish Axis tank was purple cause he had a purple character screen at the beginning.
Things that would be nice to have in the future
= A death counter (I'm pretty sure I died around 100 times lol, it would probably be ideal to put it while playing or at the end of the run.) = A credits section somewhere cause I accidentally skipped it after my run lol = Some way to find the dev's other works if they have any.
Conclusion
Little Elf Tanks is a nice compact game with a good amount of replay value. The fact that a lot of the controls are very intuitive and the levels are designed where it encourages you to learn new mechanics of the game makes it a really fun experience. I did try the other characters in the boss rush to get their feel but I felt that Axis fit me the best as a player. P.S. Stages 5-7 and 5-9 made me wanna die lol

Cool game and cute style, reminds me of old PC games i played as a kid! The visual style of the cutscenes and the boss concepts were also really nice. I recommend playing on the "easy" difficulty, which gives you 5 instead of 3 hearts - it lets you use a riskier playstyle, which is a lot of fun! After beating the game with all 4 characters, my only criticism is that Seeka (the character that uses homing bullets) is not as fun to play - her homing ability is REALLY generous (you can stand almost anywhere on a stage and hit enemies), but her bullets are also very weak as a result, so a lot of encounters feel like they take too long with her.

Fun simplistic top down shooter, encourages replayability with difficulty modes and different characters as well as a boss rush mode. Easy recommend, especially on sale.

Really enjoyed playing through this! Good variety of environments and enemies, playing on normal difficulty had its tough moments but not unfairly so. Cool to see that there are 3 other characters and a boss rush mode that I can go back and play as well. Pretty great amount of content for the price. ... also arachnophobia mode when?

Simple, short, fun game =) I enjoyed the boss levels the most (especially the fire and final boss), so having the boss rush mode was great. I finished the story mode with Norman, but I ended up finding Buck and Axis more fun when playing the boss rush mode. Seeka made the game too easy for me, but is probably a nice option for others.
