Either you won't care about the game's obvious weaknesses (retro clunkiness, retro graphics, retro music) and you are going to like this, or you will not be able to get past it and hate it. I can't get past it.

Short and sweet. Its easy to get lost while figuring out what to do next, but the world is small enough that it doesn't become frustrating.

Super solid metroidlike game!... But the thing that makes it stand out is the goddam weapon customization! You can make your weapon shoot crazy like a flamobo chango! Got nothing bad to say about really.

It's a great, little game. The design of the area's are well thought out. It has the right pace of exploration to not confuse or bore you. Satisfying weapons and unlockables. All around a great game.

Great little Metroidvania, plays like an old Metroid title. Short, sweet, very well worth the three bucks!

I beat it in 3.5 hours. That might seem pretty short, but there were so many powerups and things to experiment with that it was a rich time.

This game gets a hearty recommendation from me. A solid and challenging metroidvania that leans more towards older metroid games, and I love it all the more for it. It's cheap too. Took me 4 hours to reach the end and I don't regret my time spent. One of the most interesting features to me is the ability to customize how your weapon works. Do you prefer range to damage? Do you want your shots to explode and shatter on impact? Perhaps homing shots are your thing. In the end game, my settings had the gun firing long range homing shots that also struck enemies with lightning, and did 3x damage but made my weapon overheat from too much firing. And there's all sorts of possible combinations for you to play with and find, because while there are mundane things to find such as extra energy, extra damage, abilities and upgrades, there's several weapon modifications to find too, which fixes a common complaint with metroid games in particular where most of the pickups you find are just higher missile capacity.

It may not have the production quality of many other Metroidvanias (and I found the music rather unpleasant in some spots) but make no mistake - the is a game that knows exactly what makes its genre tick, and while it's not the longest 'Vania you'll ever play, it feels just as rich and complete as any other. Highly recommended.

Really solid short metroidvania with a lot of fun gun mods and some clever puzzles. The map is dense with very little wasted space, and the short length means that progress is rapid and new tools are always coming. It was maybe a little easy to burst down enemies with raw projectile spam and there was a little more juice that could've been squeezed out of the platforming, but overall it's very well designed and well executed.

I loved this little game! Just long enough to not wear out its welcome. Some interesting ideas for metroidvania upgrades, fun world design. The aesthetic isn’t my favorite but I have to really give it to them because they went for it hard and nailed it. I even ended up liking the menu and map. The music grates on you pretty quick but the sound effects are top tier. Played on vacation on my Deck and it was flawless, but there are no cloud saves.
