The asking price is not too high, especially on sale.
Despite having 4 characters to choose from, I feel for me it was realistically max 2 (knight and skeleton) that don't rely on a timer. A pressure of a ticking timer on a match-3 game for me is an instant no-no. I ended up unlocking everything for the knight, but got frustrated with the skeleton who has zero appeal and is just artificially more annoying version of the same. There is a surprising depth to the strategy of spell uses and skills here, so I fully support an expansion or a sequel!
Good game! Review seems negative just because I had fun and want more...

I played the demo so maybe it's my fault for buying, but after playing a bit more I realized how polarized the battles are. You have to match in exactly the right order and if you match something else it resets so you have to have multiple matches set up.
Other match-3 battlers are more dynamic where you either get some benefit from more types of matches and/or at the very least you aren't penalized for matching the wrong color.
I would recommend Roguematch, Puzzle Quest or Gems of War over this if you want a match-3 battler type game, but this has a free demo and is pretty unique so maybe you'll have a better experience than me.

its fine I guess. I can't identify anything wrong with it, but nothing really stands out as great either. A fun concept with 7/10 execution that I got bored with after just a few runs

The game seemed pretty good when I started it. I have been looking for a match 3 game like puzzle quest for a while. However, as I played it, got more and more frustrating. Most abilities have hefty negative aspects to them. The few that do not are incredible OP. That means that if you do not have one of them, it is really frustrating and you just keep restarting until you get one.
Yeah, frustration is not fun.
