I'm seeing a lot of people in the reviews saying "Play Euro Truck Simulator 2 instead It's way better." Well yes, it is way better but you're comparing a 2008 game to a 2012 game that's constantly improving and getting updates. ETS2 is improving with their animation, environments, lighting, 3D modeling, composition, rendering, programming and so much more! So yes, what do you expect?
Obviously the game development pipeline is so much less in ETS1, but you have to remember back then companies were very limited to what they could do compared to now where we can create so much bigger and better things thanks to better components and budget! Yes, the controls are janky in this game, the map sucks (you have to look at the map and follow the route of your location, no GPS), "poor" graphics, and other stuff. But this is where ETS2 came from, you have to start from somewhere. Honestly, I love the origins of this game!
