Class of '09: The Re-Up Reviews

I got it because I liked Class of '09, and even if I also liked Re-up, I was expecting more. When I was done, I was a little disappointed because of that, but I did really like it overall anyway.

Unnecessary sequel but I'm still going to 100% it because I hate myself. The art style of the random cut scenes is too modern and webtoonish to fit the y2k satire I'm petty

this game is making about 3 decisions and then watching a 30 minute movie afterward. it was great. girlboss

the first one is way better but this one is pretty good. borders on being "edgy for the sake of being edgy" rather than "edgy for the sake of being funny/sending a message" sometimes but it's still pretty good. I want to fucking kill my wife

Almost everyone in this game is a horrible person but at least most of them aren't homophobic

Ari is by default the morally best character in this game as the only questionable thing she does is be a kinked out lesbian

This is mostly going to be a comparison of the original to the re-up. Spoilers ahead. i LOVE the aesthetic and dark humor of this game. Most funny tiktok clips are from the re-up. But compared to the original, the story is very drawn out before you can get choices. Almost anything you do in the beginning of the game will not effect you at all. The creator could have made certain choices endings, like an ending where Nicole is arrested along with her brother. Don't bother exploring all of the choices until you get to choose your classes, unless you're a really big fan. This game mostly becomes a mini movie after a while. Like, if you pick to draw in art class, you are locked into becoming an homeless escort. This makes for more fleshed out characters, but a less fun gameplay. I also enjoyed the social commentary more on the original but this game does a better job showing that Nicole is a really bad person that you should not idolize. Also Emily's route was the best one. TLDR: Re-Up has less choices and longer scenes, but a better story and more interesting characters.
