I love this game, even if the story is kinda slow and hard to progress, I'm only here for the farming, and combat gameplay of the game and its cutesy artstyle, so much so I'm making fan art of it on Reddit and the official Everholm Discord you guys can check out. :>
If you just like to farm, the overall vibe, a bit of combat, and grind, you gotta try this game out then, and see it for yourself

It is a very beautiful game. Some optimisations are still needed, and perhaps a bit better pacing. But I would recommend this to any other cozy farming game addicts, especially those addicted to beautiful graphics.

I haven't played much on this game, but I'm planning to. So far I actually like it! It's so cute. I actually like it because I'v been trying to find a game like Stardew Valley. At least the concept of the game and this one turns out exactly what I've been looking for in a game. The controller is awesome, the music is very smoothing and the NPC are actually for interesting than Stardew Valley.
I would recommend this game to anyone that want game like Stardew Valley but more adorable. I'm glad that I found this game in one of the bundle Steam had recommended to me.
I would love to have more options of clothing style, but I am happy what I have gotten. Please keep up the great work and hopefully I get to see some DLC soon.

Great game! Hope the devs get enough support through Patreon to keep developing content.

I don’t think enough people are talking about this game. I’ve been obsessively playing for the past few days and I can’t get enough.
I do agree with other reviews about the storyline getting lost. But I am enjoying day to day life so much that I don’t really mind the slow progression.
I highly recommend. Especially if you’re looking for a cute little farming sim with added magic!

The farming experience in Everholm
Everholm has solid and original farming sim mechanics with good quality of life. For example naming your chests and the label pops up when you approach them, having a spell to water your plants, birds dropping an item that helps with plant growth speed, the setting to make the days longer etc. Even watering the plants with the basic watering tool works very smoothly as your character can stay at the same place while watering adjacent tiles. The farming gameplay feels very polished.
Upgrades in the game are costly but some crops sell for a lot and are multiharvest so I had no issue getting upgrades and buying blueprints by mostly selling crops and items from the dungeon/mines (underworld).
The RPG and story progression
The part of the game where it’s most lacking in my opinion is the RPG aspect. The story is locked behind developing closer relationships with the NPCs, but unfortunately they are very plain, forgettable characters with often repeated dialogue so I never really feel like talking to them.
After you arrive in Everholm, you realize people know you but you don’t remember anyone, and your sister Melanie is missing. It really broke the immersion for me that one of the NPCs suggests we just start farming and that’s what we do, never to talk about our sister again (currently I’m at the end of summer so it’s been almost two seasons with zero story development).
I’ve read that the devs are working on an update that will help with story progress by not locking it behind NPC relationships, and I think that’s very much needed. I’m glad to hear devs are taking in feedback and still improving the game.
Steam deck experience
I’ve been playing the game on my Steam deck and I had to resize the UI through the game settings as it wouldn’t fit properly without this change. I experienced some stuttering which was fixed by setting the game to 45fps on the deck settings. The text is very small but the game runs perfectly after I made these changes.
In summary
In my opinion Everholm is a great option if you’re looking for a farming sim with beautiful graphics, a hint of magic, and simple combat mechanics.
If you care about well developed NPCs and a steady story progression, it might be better to wait for future updates.

So far I would have to say this game is boring. You get an interesting start but then ... nothing. I've been running around with no direction, no guidance trying to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing and it's not very much fun.
The controls are horrible. It's clearly a PC only game. When you are in the store you can't see the whole screen. Yeah, can I alter that? Probably. But I shouldn't have to.
If you like wandering around aimlessly with no point to a game be my guest. This is one I'll skip and regret buying.
