tl;dr: Very stylish tower defense with a bunch of interesting ideas and some problems.
If you are looking for a tower defense game in which everything from the towers and enemies to the levels and the very UI itself is heavily stylized in the same theme, this is the game for you.
It offers a very laissez-faire gameplay where you can expand into whichever direction on each level and have to reach certain targets to unlock that level's boss. As time goes on and the more you exand, the harder it will get.
The gameplay loop with upgrades, artifacts to unlock and change "colors" (hard to explain, but makes sense once you play) works really well and I'd very much recommend giving it a go.
There are some issues, though:
The heavy stylization comes at the cost of clarity and usability quite often. It's all a payoff, depends on you if you prefer usability or the style this brings.
>>> Unlocks, artifacts, etc. are all presented in the game's "rotated rectangle" style and you have to hover over everything to get information.
>>> The main menu isn't really a UI, but a small level that you move through and interact with stuff as you go there.
>>> Enemies are abstract geometric shapes of different colors. But those colors do not seem to correspond with the game's colors for "damage types". That makes everything happening near towers quite impossible to follow precisely. If you plant your three damage types evenly, you'll most likely be fine.
One big issue I found is that every level plays exactly the same, really.
The three "sectors" differ a bit in how they look, but if there is a difference in gameplay between them, it is either miniscule or non-existent.
The levels seem to be procedurally generated, but nothing within that generation has a real influence on what you do.
The different damage types are an interesting idea, but as you are basically guaranteed to face all of them anyway, you'll need all of them anyway so the only real move to use all three towers you have somewhat evenly (except for the first ones you place, which should correspond to where you expand first).
As such, despite the interesting unlocks and paths to escalate difficulty, I found myself having "seen all there is to see" very quickly.

A very good game ideal to kill some time. Maxing everything takes about 20 hours of playing, then you can challenge yourself with higher chaos levels.
Missions can often be pretty luck-based with your spawn and artifacts. At higher chaos levels firerate becomes more important than your damage (somewhat). Even with oneshotting the enemies, if there's more of them you just have to shoot faster. Unfortunately with that upproach, since it's better to complete the level quicker, so you have to spawn more enemies at once, there's too many entities and projectiles present that the game loses a lot of frames.
I might have missed it during the tutorial, but I'm still not quite sure what exactly does that one ruin with 3 activators and circle in the middle.
One thing I'd add is a better visualisation of when your core is being hit. I know that there's a sound and screenshake, but you (me) don't always play with sound. Sometimes you listen to music or just with your sound off for some reason or another. Screenshake can be missed when you're breaking cells yourself due to bouncing or just because the game lost frames due to high projectile count. Maybe a frame around your screen appearing with every core hit would help.

Very surprised by the depth and complexity in this game. I'm still unlocking a lot of mechanics, but the game is very pleasantly more than I expected. Highly recommend if you like accessible but complex roguelike mechanics and tower defense.

After seeing a YouTube video of someone playing the demo, I was very eager to give this game a try.
I've played a few of the levels so far and the early levels are fairly easy and get you into the different artefacts you unlock early. The difficulty ramps up quite quick after the 2nd difficulty, which was a very nice change of pace after auto piloting the first few levels.
Overall a very nice game and I'm looking forward to completing all the levels and unlocking everything there is to unlock :D

This game is an absolute gem! Made by a solo developer, it delivers a fun and challenging tower defense experience with great mechanics and satisfying strategy. You can tell a lot of passion went into making this. If you love tower defense games, definitely give this one a shot!

The game has a neat atmosphere, with a nice soundtrack and thematic graphics. An interesting combination of different mechanics, including procedural generation, makes it interesting to play again and again, as each round is unique. You can also customize your playthrough by permanent upgrades of your units between the trials and choose different artifacts during the battle. Despite the almost meditative atmosphere, the game actually encourages action, but you should plan carefully to win the round. There is a place for experiments to fully understand the game mechanics, and, for me, these experiments only uncovered a great amount of work dedicated to making this game balanced. Concerning the bugs - have not seen any yet, except for the player sprite can move into a map boundaries a bit, so it becomes "hidden" underneath. Must be a feature.
Overall - it looks like this is a great and captivating game.

Its a fun experiment in the genre, but the restricted build space, restricted resources and restricted pathing leads to a feeling that you have very few real options with how to play.
I think I had my moneys worth, but I would say it doesn't satisfy my tower defense desire, its more of its own type of game. So take that into consideration.

Over the past few years I've struggled with an atrocious attention span that led me to completely abandon AAA gaming. Even though I enjoy them I cant justify $60 games giving me only a few hours of gameplay. So I switched to indie games and I am now satisfied far more frequently with my purchases. I've been meaning to write more reviews in support of those who put love and creativity into their games. I never get around to it but that has to stop now.
Once or twice a year there's a game that unexpectedly clicks perfectly with me. Usually it exposes me to a genre I haven't been able to fully appreciate or combines multiple genres into a unique experience. What can I say after only a couple of hour with Everwarder? It's of a quality you instantly recognize as top-tier. It almost seems insulting to call it a tower defense game when it's so much more. Phenomenal world building. Wonderful artwork. The roguelite/ survival elements blend perfectly. Very cool and unique aesthetic. The rock, papers, scissors combat adds a simplified depth to the strategic elements. This is an absolute gem and after just a short time I am fully invested into whatever the future holds for this developer. Trust the review scores. This deserves all the attention its about to get.

It's refreshing at first, but soon becomes a slog.. you'll never upgrade your units to any interesting degree and the out of game upgrades are insanely expensive, I'm talking it'll take you an hour to upgrade one unit or thing.

Hmm..
The more I play, the less I enjoy the game.
Con:
- Unlocking permanent upgrades is more grind than a MMORPG.
- 90% of my runs are lost because I didn't get lucky enough of artifacts. The boss has way too much HP.
- Winning a run doesn't seem to mean anything. At least I am not getting more currencies to afford upgrades.
Pro:
- It's a unique design, so hopefully the gameplay feeling will get better over time.
Edit:
- the dev responds to people's questions. And the answers are helpful!
