I was able to complete the entire game after act 7 came out, and for a hidden game game right now (I'm seeing that only maybe about 10 other people played this game, at the time I'm writing this review), it's worth the price I paid for it. The combat reminds me a bit of triple triad meets Pokemon, but it adds randomness in the force of token levels rolling dice to determine outcomes and everyone about the match is it plain sight on the board. To summarize the story and gameplay a bit, you play as a character who is tasked with saving a island full of people that became possessed by "spirits" on the island, and to get the people back into their senses, you have to beat them in what the game calls token battles. Some elements of Triple Triad is present here where you and the AI each start with a "deck" of tokens (6 in this case), and on each player's turn, they have to place a token on any open spot of the board and try to capture the opponent's tokens. Whoever has more in their color at the end of the match wins and can take a token from the loser. If you are able to get a perfect victory (a score of 12 that requires you to have all tokens be in your color on match's end), you'll able to loot your opponent's entire team. The game has a mixture of both strategy and luck to it. The luck being that you have to be lucky on dice rolls to capture tokens if its through battle, and strategy as to what arrow combinations you want on your tokens, what elements and abilities you want your tokens to have, etc. It's all to figure out what will work best for each opponent. I won't go into too much talk about the rules here since I said enough, but like I said, I would recommand this game for anyone whose into Triple Triad, Pokemon, creature collecting, etc. (Hint: You can get shiny tokens in the game, if shiny hunting is up your alley.)

I played in early access and was planning to come back to finish the campaign when it was released. Here it is June and I find they've been released already?! Where was I? Now I can finally discover the thrillingly pious conclusion of Attack on Hex Island. This is a pretty solid hex card battler. My sigma rizz skibidi slicer is approaching Ohio levels fellow youngsters!

This game is absolutely fantastic! The game is filled with a hilarious pun-filled enjoyable experience. The NPCs are great to talk to/hear from. The art on the critters and design of the game itself is really well made, i enjoy every ounce of it. The evolutions on the critters were really cool to see evolve for the first time. I loved that exploration/discovery of it. As far as the mechanics of the game go, this reminds me so much of an old game called Risk, i used to play on the original xbox. Same concept except without card tokens. I absolutely love the strategy behind the game. You can very easily make a game ending mistake without even realizing. The deck building is incredibly smart, and so is incorporating the elements into it! I really hope we can build/continue the story/add more elements/critters in the future. And id be very very pumped to see pvp and even some team dynamics. like a 2v2 situation. That would be so awesome.

It's RPG story will see you go from stage to stage needing to plan carefully to be able to take down your opponent otherwise risk losing one of your favorite tokens (cards). Tokens have different elements as well as weakness to certain elements so keep an eye on that as well. Winning battles see you be able to take one token from your opponent as well as earn gold that can then be used in the games shop to get booster packs to help expand your deck even more! All is in game so no micro transactions here, just pure fun. Don't let the cute graphics fool you either, as mastering this game will take a very strategic mind because the games boards a different every time and the threat of losing your best token is always weighing on you. The game has you constantly thinking on your feet while enjoying wonderful music and adorable visuals. While still in early access I believe there is so much fun to be had here already and already enjoying my time with the game as well as looking forward to what the future brings! For more on this game check out my video on my channel as well as future streams of it...I plan to continuing following development. For now this is a fantastic game that I highly recommend. https://youtu.be/o06a7Gxqf5M

If you are a fan of deck builder games, turn based strategy, or monster battlers like Pokemon then I can't recommend this game enough! Everything is extremely well crafted from the battle system to the special abilities to the creature designs. The story is uplifting and brings a smile to my face too.

Saw this game being played on a cool Twitch streamer's channel (JMckennaStories) and though it looked super fun. So I bought it. Turns out it's super fun! I love the puzzle/strategy game play and collecting the different cards with unique creatures on them. The RPG storyline has plenty of humour, bright colours, and sunshiny music that keeps the atmosphere light and joyful. A great game to either pick up and play for those fun, sporadic moments, or to dive deep into and master all the techniques and strategies!

This game is exactly what I was hoping the final fantasy cards games of Triple Triads and Tetra Master would play as except without all the convoluted hidden rules and mechanics that makes it impossible to know who will win. This game keeps the guessing game out of it and makes it clear who is likely to win a battle by looking at: their level, their typing, and their abilities. The creatures are really cute and fun to collect and I love that there are
shinies!
The abilities add so much depth to the strategic nature of the battles. At first, I started just putting tokens down and hoping for the best but once element trumping and abilities came into play, it is a whole different ball game. I definitely recommend this game to anyone that loves strategy card battles, pokemon like creature collecting, and rpg progression systems. Oh, and
tinkering
in the game makes it even easier to customize your party. P.S. Those stinking
bombs
are both fun and nuisance...and I love them! They have helped me so many times to come back from a losing match by purposely using them! :D Keep up the good work, guys. I'm excited for PvP

I usually don't buy games below 2h/1€ and as anticipated it takes about 6-7h to complete the game without struggling much. It is a succession of token battles on a rail, close to 60 total. The story is just a pretext to chain fight. The experience is simple and straightforward. No replayability, except for battling the same opponents a few times. So it is a bit pricey for the current content. Some other modes with different rules would be welcome. Now I have made this exception to support the developpers because the core game is solid and fun, it is also fresh to me as I have never played anything like it. I enjoyed that the battles are short and intense, one move can change the outcome till the end. They are also with stakes, the winner gets to chose a token from the loser. I can only imagine how cool it would have been with some world building and be able to explore, challenge NPCs, get rare/unique monsters etc... I felt like the game respected my time, there was no tedium, no grind. The progression was good, with regular unlocks. It was necessary to adapt and change the team regularly, use most of the creatures so the challenge was tuned well with some interesting opponent strategies. I had a good time.

This game is full of interesting choices. Do I take my best tokens and risk losing them? Do I want more arrows for attacking or less for combo defense? Do I specialize in in a type, or go balanced? Do I go for an easy capture, or go for a risky combo? That's one of the best things I can say about a game. It's a lot of interesting fun!
