The perpetual boost gives it the same kind of enjoyment as the Sonic Advance/Rush series where you can zip through levels quickly and skillfully. It helps too that there's multiple mechanics that further optimize how you're going to progress through the level, such as using your assortment of weapons effectively and maximizing your invincibility meter.
