I really enjoy deciphering the language! From the ones they taught us, the educated guesses, to some wild guesses. The characters are very lovely
(bit sad there's no ms. bride's ending)
. Interacting with them is what I imagined befriending characters from horror movies would be. Some are nice, some are questionably nice, some might end you for fun but still nice lol. As the story progresses we don't only learn about the language and the otherworld residents but also a bit of our main character. Which is a nice addition. And the backgrounds, I love it, so much. The creepy vibe, the subtle color changes, and the path that keeps changing really made me excited. Oh, special mention for out bestest ghost Mr. Crawling <3

Awesome visuals, great character design and personalities too. Love the plot so far and love the translation aspect of the game as you go. Really gets you thinking

Very interesting and fun to play. I didn't have the typical experience as I did play with a friend, but that just made it all the better as we were both smooth brained and had like several 'go's, 'what's, 'they's, and the likes. We both got very attached to Mr. Crawling. The game play was good and the art is good. We played late at night, so some parts did scare us. Overall, I would say this game is very entertaining.

Overall, I would recommend this game. Figuring out the language was deeply satisfying. The characters and art were nice and the atmosphere was great. While dark, the game had a lot of silly humor that kept it fun. The romance content was minimal and very subtle, I would recommend this game even to those not interested in the romance aspect. I would give the game a 7/10 for what it is.

I honestly got attached because of the language decipher mechanism (brother I spent 5 hours and I STILL haven't fully unlocked everything). The characters are charming even with the language barriers, and I can see why people like it a lot. It's not as scary as it seems. Recommended for folks who would like the date the unknown.

You ever play a game that feels like it was made for you personally? If you like language-deciphering and have ever wanted to befriend the monster in a horror movie then you probably already know you're going to like this.

This game was very interesting and a cool experience, but I think my problem is with the tags. This game isn't an otome really. There's a few interactions that are "flirty" and a few endings where characters admit they like you and want to stay with you, but I would label this game as just a horror cipher visual novel. But it was a fun and quick experience (Longer if you get all the endings, there are many) that I think is worth the price. One qualm I have with the game is the sound mixing and how inconsistent the sfx are. I had my game at 1% volume, and a lot of the sfx were still super loud. As for inconsistency, some objects make noise, and others don't at all. Beating down doors has a sound effect, but dropping the crobar doesn't? Killing some characters doesn't? They just seemed weirdly selected to me. Nitpicks aside, it was still a very charming game that I enjoyed, and the artwork is beautiful!

embarrassed to admit that i completed everything in the dictionary yet somehow severely misunderstood one very crucial word,
Love
. I don't know what that says about me exactly, but this game definitely made me think long and hard about how words shape the way we see things and how the way we see things shape the meaning of words. I had to sit down and reconsider what that word meant to me after playing through it...... It also- no joke. made me reconsider my biases towards the characters and how I see them differently after understanding what they were trying to say. I think there was a moment where they taught me two particular words
Monster, and Human
which made me feel bad because we were intruding into their space, it felt unfair to translate the words that way. We were the odd ones out, not them. This really made me think long and hard about the power of words and the meanings we ascribe to them. I don't know man, it's a silly monster chants of senaar but it unexpectedly made me think more about how language and communication form our day to day, how we give meaning to them and how differently we might understand or interpret things. The art is intentionally creepy, but the characters have all been loveable, sometimes silly, and all in all, everything in the world is very interesting. The way they interact with each other, and the social bonds and rules they form are so fascinating to see, and compare with how we do so ourselves. It's all in all a very good game with good puzzle elements, a good mix of story, horror and silliness, and it's easy to see that its been made with lots of care and love.
