The City map is amateur-like and annoying with very small stairs to navigate through. Get the other dlc's, like those with Aslym and Monastery.

Does battling huge spiders and zombies in a post apocaliptic NY and going to Alcatraz sound like fun?
IT IS.
PS: Those damn bugs are the most annoying creature to aim and shoot down in this game!

Do I recommend this DLC? Yes. For $7 it's a bit pricey for three new levels, but the DLC bundle 2 gives you three DLC for $14, which I think is the better option to go for and saves you a little bit of money.
So what did I think of the new levels?
Farm 51 has added a version of Prison that isn't difficulty locked, unlike in the original. This is a good change, as I never really liked how levels were locked behind difficulty in the original. Other than that, it's mostly a straight port, with a few visual flairs and decorations added here and there. Good level in the original, still a good level now.
City is where the DLC starts to shine. For starters, the zombies you fight throughout the level have got a graphical update that makes them feel more unique than the reskinned plague victims from the original game. The level itself has received a nice visual overhaul as well. In the original, it was mostly a flat, grey level. Here, ash now rains from the sky, a new skybox gives it some nice visual flair, and the textures now have a bit more detail. The level is mostly the same gameplay wise, including the annoying fire escape jumping section about halfway through. The final miniboss fight has also been changed, but this is mostly for the better.
Pentagon has also been updated. The original wasn't a very good level to begin with, so any change is positive. It's received a nice visual overhaul, with new lights, a giant spinning fan, and other little visual flairs that break up what was mostly a concrete box in the original. Instead of fighting the Panzer Spider right off the bat, you first have to spend some time killing a couple waves of enemies, which is a good way to increase the level's play time and get the player a few extra hitpoints for the final fight.
Overall, I enjoyed this DLC and would recommend it. My only real complaint is, again, the lack of ability to backtrack through levels after fights to gather supplies and look around. City and Pentagon were already like this in the original, but Prison especially was always a level I liked to wander through. Beyond that, I think they should have re-designed Pentagon to be more of an actual level instead of one big arena, but I respect that they were simply trying to bring the original level to Hell and Damnation.

2.3€/a single map that should have been in the base game. The maps were easier than base game but hey, I guess there's co-op.

They managed to ruin some of the most creative maps of the original with screwed up physics and 1/4th speed enemies

Here you go. 3 maps from previous games that are remade in newer engine. Nothing more.

*Warning: spoilers*
Mediocre DLC for the main game.
Painkiller: Hell and Damnation is a remaster of the first Painkiller game and its expansion: Battle Out of Hell.
The game follows the same story line and mechanics, but offers a lot more content like challenge maps, a unique Halloween map and the introduction of co-op. It now runs on the Unreal Engine and looks fantastic.
You can clearly see that this is a game of the new millennium. Some stages are not available until you buy them as DLC, the same goes for the Tarot cards and skins. And speaking of DLC, this game has a ton of it. You never have the feeling that you have a complete game because you miss some random DLC. The only game that I know of that is worse than this, is Borderlands 2 with its million pieces of DLC.
The first DLC I completed was Painkiller Hell & Damnation - City Critters. It is just a extra mission with unique enemies and a new enviroment.
I thought this DLC was kind of boring, because the level consists of a large, empty, concrete city with depressing graphics, generic "Fallout 3" zombies and a lame soundtrack.
It did not offer that much in terms of innovation and the game would be fine without it.
In the end, I still think Painkiller: Hell and Damnation is a good game, just not as epic as the original game and its expansion. This is mainly because of the commercial vibe that this game has and the missing levels and enemies, but when playing, it still feels like Painkiller.
Still recommend it though.

This is the last DLC that Painkiller HD is getting, as it seems, and it introduces another bunch of 3 single/coop maps from Painkiller Black Edition.
Prison map looks like a direct port. Just dull prison filled with punks and bikers with minigun. I don't think that I ever played it in original Painkiller, it was difficulty-locked there. Taking a pause there, I must thank PK HD makes for not difficulty-locking any levels. Anyway, I only seen original map on YouTube. Didn't look interesting. And as I played here, it's not interesting to beat either. The most passable map in Painkiller, perhaps.
But then you got Apocalyptic City. Oh boy, that level was quite fresh. Putting you into urban setting, as you have to defend yourself against faster zombies. And exploding cars. And many cool spiders bosses. Hm, I don't think that spider bosses had a health bar shown in original. This is one good thing that HD added here. And made level more detailed, yep. But otherwise, level itself is a direct port.
But it's not all only about just level. It's also about how monsters got ported as well. And well, it's not exactly perfect.
Zombies look somehow much more traditional, slower kind. Who lazily walk around. Kamikaze zombies are the ones who were hurt the most, slumbering lazily toward player, stopping fully and then carefully falling onto knees before exploding. Which makes them quite boring to fight against in this map with huge spaces. In original they were activelly running toward player. Well, not so quick, but certanly faster than here, with kamikazes immeditly sliding onto knees on the go to explode from their own suffering.
That, and there was this atmospheric detail where zombies would fall down from the sky, screaming and crashing into few pieces, leaving blood on the ground, only to have body parts reform body again. Here they just spawn on the ground in most cases. Well, in some parts they still fall down, silently faceplanting.
Then you also have flyman. Or whatever it is, the flying zippy monsters that throws molotov accurately. In original they would stop for a moment only to zip away quickly, flying in such "steps", making it hard to land a projectile shot on them. Here they just move slowly in the air, predictably. But seeing how they are already quite thin and were incredibly annoying in original, it's probably for the better.
Also for the better is the part of a level where you face two fat monsters as mini-boss encounter. They lost their magic, only being able to melee you. Remembering how huge of a difficulty spike that moment was, perhaps it's for the better as well.
Oh, and cars. In original they took few shots to make them explode, but it was worth it, the explosion was quite damaging and massive. Here they explode on a single shot and don't do any damage at all, just being a decoration. Shame. Shame about zombies too. Otherwise would have been great.
Pentagon, while still staying as boss arena, is fully reworked and looks sexy now, with a huge fan spinning on top, casting shadow on the floor. You have to survive a monsters invasion before finally facing a huge spider boss.
Who is kinda mixed. First you just shoot him down and he seems quite easy, health going down easily. Then he becomes immunity and starts doing some slow slow kind of attack that you can avoid easily. Or interrupt. In all honesty, I didn't understand fully how I made him damagable again. And well, fight itself isn't too interesting, to be honest. And music sucked as well.
But hey, those scenes were cool.
