Games from Rusty Lake have never failed me! I’ve been playing them since I was 9, and now I’m 18. I’ve played every single one they’ve released multiple times. I was so excited for this game! I tried the demo like two years ago, and now that I finally have some free time, I knew I had to play it. I enjoyed it so much, and I can say with full confidence that this was my favorite episode! I can 100% recommend this game, and honestly, every other Rusty Lake game too! :)

Awesome addition to the Rusty Lake series! Really tied together some questions from the prior games, so if you are a fan already I'd say you NEED to play it to truly understand Rose's story.

Intuitive and not too difficult. Lovely game as is the rest of the series

Another game from Rusty Lake universe. This time puzzles were less creepy and also easier (except the usual extra achievements, that are just damn hard - unless you check the Lake's community). We learn more about one of the characters that previously was mostly mysterious. So... in general for fans of the series. If you will play it separately, might be a bit weird ~~Check my curator's page!~~

Once again I am in something of a quandary. Steam insists on this 'all or none' approach to ratings and recommendations. I wouldn't rate this as a 5, although it certainly held up for a considerable time as being a genuine prospect for 5 stars. I played all of the Rusty Lake games in the order recommended by the developers (posted in the Cube Escape Collection Discussion). I found the first 2/3 of the games to be engaging and challenging. Things seemed to go pear shaped at around the Paradox stage. I have a personal issue with that particular game because I was thwarted in playing early on because I could not complete the 'bug killing' challenge with the globe because of my arthritis. Despite several posts and emails to the developers I failed to get any response to a workaround or alternative so that I could complete the game. That isn't what changed my view of the overall series though. Things seemed to depart from the thread that was originally established around the White Door stage and continued on from there. The whole rigmarole of having to jump to Discord, external web sites and social media platforms did nothing to enhance the game play and left me nonplussed. The Samsara Room was underwhelming, the Past Within suddenly required you to have a playing partner as it was designed as a coop game - again with no apparent workaround and finally Underground Blossom seem to fall flat for me as it was nowhere near as challenging as the first 2/3 of the games. Bottom line - if you can buy them all bundled (I got all of the games for about $20) I would say it's a good deal. But it does seem to lose it's way and start to run out of gas (and ideas) as time wears on. I'd give it a 3 1/2 - 4.
Overall = 5/10
A dull and relatively boring mystery where for the majority of the game you just go through the motions of moving from Station to Station, meeting odd characters and solving easy puzzles along the way. It’s very weird and has Rusty Lake’s signature artistic style and kookiness, but hardly any atmosphere, intrigue or darkness. The second part of the game where you can travel freely between the Stations and visit other places was much better as the puzzles became harder, the mystery began to unravel and horror elements crept in, but the story never really gripped me and ended without closure. Whilst it’s a very polished, well presented and easy to play game of good length, by the end, I left feeling disappointed rather than rewarded. Most of the achievements were poor, requiring you to click the same item multiple times for no reason or being tied to aspects outside the game.
