This is a thumbs up for me, even bought me a new drum (IINE Pro Max) just for this game even though I can use my old Dobe Switch Drum. For people complaining about the subscription, you guys are either used to playing "free-piracy" alternatives and have no idea how much they cost to licence with other games like Respect V. $9 for 3 months with 600+ songs is a goddamn steal I promise.

Disappointing port.
Lag from the get-go compounded with crazy amount of menus.
I tried the month sub just to see if its worth the 700 songs and it was disappointing.
Not enough Taiko classics, tons of covers instead of the legit versions and unless you're really into Shounen slop you will be missing tons of Idolm@ster songs. I get this is supposed to be for everyone, but when you are already paying a premium on a controller, base game and a monthly (or 3 month) pass, you'd think you would have deeper variety in the song choice.
I wish I could say the game is worth it but unless they start selling specific niche DLC songs from previous entries, fix the technical issues and declutter the menu selection screens, it feels like a chore more than anything.

Error code 1104 when trying subscribe music pass.
Tried on different network environments, still error code 1104.
Without music pass, only too few songs playable.

Case solved, removed saved payment method in Steam account, then it allows me to use Steam wallet to pay the subscription fee for the music pass.

Finally Taiko on Steam! So much better than the Xbox PC port of Drum Master in terms of:
(1) General interface/bugs, much better launch time (no horrendous stuck in load screen at launch)
(2) WAY more songs, at least when comparing the DLC with previous titles. Yes, it is a subscription now, but if you play Taiko like I do (get incredibly addicted for short periods of time) then this is very worth. Also yes, a lot of the DLC songs are ripped from old titles, but as someone who has played only Drum n' Fun (Switch) and The Drum Master (PC), the vast majority are new to me.
(3) Rewarding replay-ability with lots of expert/high difficulty songs, secret expert tracks, drummer level and corresponding rewards, achievements and titles that track your progress on clears/FCs, etc.

This is the most responsive and complete version of Taiko yet. Definitly reccomend to both veteran players as well as new players.
my only critisism is that you can't do 2 person multiplayer with an single keyboard. I'd really love to have Player 1 use QWRT and player 2 use IO[]. This would be perfect for some quick party games on my laptop, without needing 2 controllers on the go.

Best rhythm game ever made, and I've tried a lot. Osu used to be my go-to, but after this, there's no reason to go back.
What are people waiting for? An influencer to play it while screaming, making weird noises and overreacting on stream before they give it a chance?
Get a Hori drum and smack it to death.
