It's fine. Doloc Town is like Temu Stardew Valley; it's janky, poorly explained, frustrating combat. I can't say I care much about the plot. I thought the graphics might grow on me; they haven't. And it's pretty grindy.
Doloc Town reminds me of a cross between Stardew Valley and the free Flash games I used to play on Newgrounds. It's an acceptable time-waster. For around 10 bucks, Doloc Town is fine. I think it'd be pushing it at a higher price point. Doloc Town *definitely* isn't deserving of overwhelmingly positive -- it's not that good. But it's okay while I wait for other game releases.

If you like Stardew valley, Spiritfarer, or any number of other cozy games, I Highly recommend this game to you. It is outstanding, and even now has me craving more and more, and I can not wait to see what future updates for it hold.

I genuinely love this game, despite only having about 30 hours in it. This is the game I come back to when I just wanna vibe and have a good, stress-free time. The music is my biggest draw: the soundtrack is amazing in my opinion, and I have half a mind to leave this game on in the background sometimes just so I can listen to the music and take some time to write.
It's a simple game: gotta farm and make money, use that money to get more seeds, more land... the usual deal. However, a lot of your homestead expansion goes vertical too: you can get platforms that let you place objects like planters and smelters on them, you can get buildings that look like storage units that you can stack on each other and place things inside of them... there's a lot of creativity involved on where you can place things.
You chop down trees, mine rocks and ores, and even clean up garbage to get items you can craft with or help the needs of the townsfolk with. There's a bit of combat here and there too, mostly with a drone though you can use your pickaxe or another tool to do a bit of extra damage if you want to. Movement is fluid- so far I've gotten a double jump and a dash, and said dash allows you to not take damage from projectiles, though it does have a short cooldown between dashes- and there doesn't seem to be a time limit for anything other than guild quests: take your time, explore all over, find treasure, and just have a good time.
I recommend playing with mouse and keyboard since it makes using the drone for combat a little easier if you don't want it to be on auto-fire. Not all enemies are immediately aggressive and hostile, but if the drone shoots at an enemy automatically that wasn't aggressive before, it naturally will attack you... and I do mean YOU, as the drone doesn't get targeted.
I personally can't wait to get more into the tech tree and can't wait to see this game finished so I can get my hands on all of the cool stuff in it. If you prefer to wait and purchase games that are 100% completed/not in early access or anything, then you shouldn't have to wait TOO long for your chance to play this game from beginning to end. I'd still highly recommend you playing Doloc Town now, though: it's just that much fun and worth every penny in my book~
