Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines Reviews

Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Cannies is a fun ride from start to end. It was a very hard game to put down, as I just wanted to play the next stage back to back. If ya have played the last game like I have, this an expanded version of that game with a new character to play as and new power ups to play with. Luna, the new character you play is so much to play as. With her gun and dash abilities, it creates very thrilling stages that keeps you on your toes at all times. And Pablo is still fun as ever, but now with new power ups in toe, it makes things very fresh from the first game. The art and music is a blast on the senses with a wide set of unique, interesting worlds and level to traverse trough as well. This game is just fun for real, I cannot sing it's praises any further. If you like platformers, dogs, and grapple hooks, this is easy high recommendation. It may be short, but it's a blast every second of the way.

If you liked Grapple Dog, you'll love this sequel. Better in every way: more collectibles, more secrets, more levels, more mechanics. Still follows the charming characters from the first one. Pablo is still great and Luna, the new protagonist, has a great arc that makes her endearing at the end. The Trials of Egress levels also provide a great challenge for veterans of the series. All in all, a fantastic package for the price. Hope the devs have plans for another one in the future.

Even better than the first one, game feels more fluid and each world adds a new ability which keeps the game extremely fresh and fun. Boss fights are mostly extremely easy though.

Game should be more expensive. Get a lot of good content for the price.

Grapple Dog basically improves everything I loved about the first game, and irons out a lot of the quirks of that game as well. I think it controls better, has a more enjoyable reward for collecting, and has very tight and well done levels. The story is also very charming and quite funny. I also really like how Luna plays in contrast to Pablo. She has a lot more control to explore but is hindered by enemies a lot. Though I do think enemies might have a bit too much health for her, you have to stop for like 3-4 seconds per enemy sometimes. This was a real fun time through out the game to the point where I even went through the time trials. My main issue is some of the boss fights are a lot of waiting with little times to hit the boss, especially the later ones. But honestly that's fairly minor overall. This is an awesome platformer and I really recommend it.
