Essentially, you get body parts semi-randomly and you slap them together, give them an order for what to do, and then set them free. The creations aren't particularly interesting, it doesn't really have a lot of depth, it's a terrible grind, and runs have to be completed all at once because you can't save. It's a huge time sink for less engagement than reading a book that ultimately fails to deliver on the necromancer fantasy in any meaningful way. The loop is play -> earn gold -> die (because you don't have upgrades to make winning possible) -> spend gold to upgrade -> keep replaying the same map until you've gotten enough upgrades and get lucky on enemy titan spawns -> move on to the next world.

I gotta say i'm generally, mostly positive about this game having bought it during a sale. It takes the first game and adds some stuff on top of that, though not that much to be fair. Therefore I gotta say, if you have the first already it's probably not going to be worth buying unless you're really looking for more, and if you don't own either you might as well buy Necrosmith 2 on discount as it's not a very large game (took me 16 hours to 100%, with around 25-50% of that being just waiting around) If there'll be a third game i'm hoping for a significant content increase.

This game's tutorial sucks. I get into the tutorial and it's like, "Make 4 skeletons" I start making skeletons, not knowing I'm giving them orders to ignore enemies and just gather resources, I make two of these, then my tower gets attacked. It tells me I need to have skeletons guard the tower, I click the defend order... but this only tells a new skeleton to defend the tower not existing ones. I try click on the the skeletons, it gives me control of the skeleton, I don't want this I want to play the RTS and let my skeletons be autonomous I click off him make a new mage skeleton. I try to scroll around with WASD but nothing happens confused I start using my mouse to move around. I'm getting attacked by to many enemies but I don't have mana for more skeletons my tower has taken 1500 damage and my only guard is almost dead. After the guard dies the game informs me that I can pause the game... and break down unwanted parts... anoying but whatever. I make a new much better guard and am happy to see my tower should be safe. Look at my scouts, one is running around but the guy I clicked on before is still clicked and under my control... What the heck? How do I stop controling him? I resign myself to controling the tower guard since he shouldn't need to move much. it is only now the game informs me that click on skeleton portraits (which I did before and it did nothing) can let me change orders. Now I'm getting mad, feels like the game is intentiallly build obtuse, but whatever I'll just keep going. Make a new mage guard make two attack guys and Learning all good. Tutorial, "Your guys won't be able to beat tough enemies make a titan!" Oh dange that sounds sick. Open the titan menu select the titan parts, it says I need 100 mana which I have in spades ready for my titan. Now, I do not understand this next part... the tutorial says, "To make a titan you need to put the specific parts into the cauldron" I look all over the screen... no cauldron, "The specific parts you need will be highlighted in the inventory", check my inventory, nothing looks highlighted. There is a flashing box in the titan menu, I try clicking it, nothing. I try to exit the menu, nothing. I hit esc, nothing. I google it, nothing. I google other things, nothing. The game is expecting me to know of some sort of cauldron and have collected all the 'specific parts'. I didn't find 6 titan parts while playing the tutorial I guess so it soft locked. I'm sorry if you love this game, but this is terrible. To make an RTS and ignore all RTS etiquet then also have a terrible tutorial that expect you to know about this all important 'cauldron' when no cauldron is on screen and nothing look highlighted in the inventory and then the only thing I find online is a gog post about how you can hardlock in the tutorial and the game has no way to contact support or devs so they just posted on gog and hopped it'd get addressed. If the game is gonna hardlock me in the tutorial I'm gonna hard refund the game. Work on the tutorials devs it's important.

The game is too short, only three not very large levels and one mixed one larger. The main story and achievements go by quickly, but you're left with grinding for all the artifacts, since you don't need most of them and you can only use 4 and upgrade everything in the tower, but unfortunately it's too expensive and useless. The game is not very difficult compared to the first part and before you have unlocked or upgraded everything you have already gone through the story. And all that remains is mindless grinding. The negative review is that there are bugs and the game often lags or slows down. This problem has been around for a long time and has not been solved. It is worst on the second map. Also, enemy titans appear too often near your base and death on the second level does not occur when you destroy all enemy bases. One of the achievements requires you to die from the hand of a boss on the second level, but if you defeat him once, he doesn't appear again and you can miss the achievement by mistake. Maybe with a discount the game isn't bad but the lag is terrible and there's too much mindless grinding and the last titan you unlock is complete garbage.

So many shortcomings but still fun to play. Could have been an awesome game but ends up mediocre. High playtime due to leaving the game running over night multiple times, as there is no save feature during a level.

Though I saw it in other reviews, I decided that people were overreacting and bought the game. The inability to quit+save mid run is awful, the runs are quite long and you're stuck with the option of quit or be stuck playing for a very long time. If not for that, this game would get a thumbs up, but it's bad enough that by itself it earns a thumbs down. Otherwise a fairly fun game, I suppose. Update. I played a bit more. Apparently if you take too long on a level it sends a reaper that instakills you. This reaper cannot be killed, and can kill anything and everything you have (I checked the forums, it's unbeatable). I have no idea why. Enjoying the progress then unstoppable death seems kind of antifun.
