I loved this DLC, it is about 45 minutes to an hour of gameplay set in Boston. If you didn't know already, the three DLC episodes are a take on alternate history where the good guys are now bad and baddies are now good guys. Episode 2, the betrayal, without giving anything away, i found it to be pretty epic. The new power is great and fun to use, kinda wish it was part of the main game. Following from the first episode, Connor's fury starts to unleash and you can see he is beginning to get a grip on the situation. I picked up the season pass on sale, definitely worth it if you can get past the game breaking bug on episode one.

Tyranny of King Washington: The Betrayal had promise with its superpowers and alternate setting, but it ended up being a frustrating, bug-ridden mess. The story felt like filler, with Connor acting out of character and the narrative having little connection to the main game. Add in Ubisoft making the DLC unplayable, and there’s really no reason to recommend it anymore. Just another disappointing chapter in what could’ve been a much better expansion.

I would say that this 3-part story is an enjoyable experience although it does not add anything to the main plot. The new powers are cool and it's the best part of the DLC's. However, all 3 DLC's are unecessarily difficult and frustrating and that goes for the main missions and all the rest that you may choose to do. If you really want to see this alternate storyline get them on sale and play through the main story only.

This second episode follows on from the first in that it is alright. The new ability is pretty cool and makes getting around fast and fun despite the large number of enemies. The main missions are fun but the side quests are still boring filler. This time around I only collected all chests and memory fragments. The former to get the upgrades and the latter to get the extra cutscene which actually makes some kind of sense this time. Overall I enjoyed this episode a bit more as the difficulty is not as frustrating but I’m still not convinced this is worth the full price.

The main game is already suffering from a few bugs, but the DLC is just an unoptimized glitch fest. Ragdolls stretching all over the place, random crashes in battle, mission targets getting stuck inside walls, Connor falling inside a tree and getting stuck or falling through the world. This is just a poorly developed cash grab.

All 3 episodes are recommended. A nice touch to the game and the story about the apple With the powers the rooftops aren't really a problem anymore Some parts don't have checkpoints so it might be frustrating for some players A very nice story

Not very interesting. The novelty of the plot has worn off by now and the beginning is beyond boring. I was actually quite certain that I'd hate this episode, but luckily there were a few things that raised this episode slightly above the first one, which was almost a mix of garbage and cheap entertainment. The first thing I'd like to mention is that the game adds another supernatural power. Basically a glorified grappling hook. It speeds up your movement a fair bit and makes the movement in itself a bit more interactive than just holding down a button. Though, it's still pretty basic. The assassination aspect this power adds is extremely useless and the only time you'll use it will be when you have to use it. The story is pointless. It's two steps forward and one step back. You do something and then almost immediately the game tells you that what you did was completely pointless anyways. Though you end up with more than you started, so I won't complain about it too much. I personally had some cool and slightly memorable experiences in this DLC, so it's not a total dud. Though, if I had paid for more than 3€ extra for the Deluxe Edition of the game compared to the base game, I would be way more critical of this. Unlike the first episode, which I didn't recommend, I'm conflicted on whether I should recommend this or not. But considering that you essentially have to play through Episode 1 for this, I won't recommend this one.

The Betrayal is how server broken and cannot connect to access DLC. Ubiscam now say server never get fix and will also be shutdown anyway in few weeks. Must buy game one more time as rebastard edition to play DLC.

DLC verdict: Don't get it OR Get it in the Season Pass OR Get it in the Deluxe Edition Comment: This is the SECOND part of Tyranny of King Washington. We continue the story and it's cool and the abilities are fun to use. However there are even MORE glitches & bugs this time. The stupid constraints don't help it either. You get the EAGLE special ability here and it is set in the Boston. Also buying this DLC separately is nonsense because it has an open ending and you have to buy the other 2 DLCs to make sense of the story. This DLC is part of both the Season Pass and the Deluxe Edition of AC3 so you could possibly get it through there. P.S.: To activate the DLC, write down the CD-key Steam shows you (you cannot copy+paste it), start the game, go to Extras and then to Redeem Code (if it does not work go to uPlay and redeem the code there too), restart the game. The Tyranny of King Washington: The Betrayal is the second part of a three episode DLC set alternatively from the base Assassin's Creed III game. In this, you play as Connor, who wakes up in a Boston prison. This follows the story of episode one in that the once good guy Commander George Washington has turned insane after conquering the Apple of Eden and has control over his Patriots. Its a decent episode. The story aspect of it is solid. There are some variety in missions and turns in the story that do make it engaging enough until its finished. And unlike the first part, this did not feel like a chore to see when the episode would finish. It adds another 90 minutes of gameplay within the main missions like the first. As with the first there are a ton of side quests to do but I skipped all of them as I did not feel the need to complete them. Within the context of the DLC, You get some characterisation elements such as Connor and gaining more super power abilities as one example and alternate history elements of control with the Scepter, held by King Washington. I just feel with these DLCs, despite being modest, come off as complete afterthoughts and it is completely fair enough to think so because it is just a tacked on DLC. At least the developers gave it some effort. Overall, again its a solid DLC. It was enjoyable enough for the 90 minutes that I played it for. There are some story elements that keep me engaged to the end, which is nice. As with my first episode recommendation, I recommend getting the AC3 deluxe edition that includes all DLC as this is not worth $11.95. Based on the Deluxe Edition being $20 more and assuming you get the standard edition, I cannot recommend this as standalone. 5.75/10 ---- Thanks for reading my review!
