A hair over two and a half hours in, and I am done? What the heck? The core game mechanic, as the name implies, is the game 2048, a long time internet free game that even after all these years I go back to on occasion. The designer here has placed a fantasy RPG-lite frame work over that, with a nice little story about trying to save the kingdom from invasion, and involving finding a party to aid you. Each member has a skill that can be used to help you. You need to charge them up, and recharge them after use. Upgrades allow you to reduce this re-charge time. And that is basically it. Your character has no power it seems, and leveling up doesn't seem to do more than allow you to speed up a recharge time for one of the powers you have available, but really it doesn't need much more than that. The core game play isn't for everyone, and it might not be a bad idea to try the tree 2048 to see if it appeals to you, but I find that this game adds enough to that core to make it worth a try. Controls are okay, sound is pleasant, sorry is simplistic but sufficient and the art isn't bad. For all that the game play is interesting however, it ends up feeling quite unfinished. Sadly I am running into more and more of these games where someone has a nice idea, but fails to create a complete game to go with it. The story ends, with a cliff hanger, but it simply shouldn't ave ended. There was so much more to develop before anyone should have considered this complete. I paid less than a buck and feel a little ripped off, honestly. Anything over a buck is a travesty. One big fat thumb down.
