A pretty trashy and boring game with not a lot of guidelines. Just a worse Firewatch and if you want a peaceful and calm game then play that instead.

**Hike Isle** is one of two *Hike* walking simulator series games I've played at the time of this writing. The other being **Hike Valley**. While I quite enjoyed *Hike Valley*, I found **Hike Isle** was pleasing until it became kind of tedious. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997065605 At its core, *Hike Isle* is a pretty basic walking simulator. Very nice graphics. Wander around and find unique locations. Finish game. The audio tracks are two guitar pieces, most likely played on keyboard and seemingly shared with *Hike Valley*. They're nice until you've heard them on repeat for an hour or more lol. Graphically, this game features a soft tone and pleasing color palette with the only variation provided in the unique if somewhat basic locations. In general, the forest atmosphere is nice. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997065553 However, this also works against the game since everything takes on a pretty similar appearance, and with the size of the environment, it is very easy to get turned around and lose track of where you are. Which kind of sucks since you are required to find all eleven unique locations in order to complete the game. Some of the locations are visible from the trail, but some aren't and a few are in a separate area without a hiking trail. Which means you are relegated to wandering around taking in the same-y environment in hopes of finding said locations. After three trips around the island, I gave up on trying to find two of the locations. Maybe they're obvious to some, but for me, that's when the tedium set in and I don't foresee my going back to visit all eleven locations in order to finish the game. And that is a shame, because if the experience was just a bit more condensed, I would have very much enjoyed my time with the game. Additionally, very few people seem to have played the game, and so I think the chance of getting help via a walkthrough or forum assistance seems pretty low. This is Steam Deck compatible btw, although you'll need to go into the dev tools and 'force Proton' in order for it to work. Once you do that, it is seamless on the Deck. There is one keyboard instance in the beginning. 'Steam + X' opens the Deck keyboard for this. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997065487 Now, generally speaking, if you are more patient than I am, you probably will have less issues with the map design, and for around a buck (it's regularly 74 cents during sales), it's not really a waste of time or a wasted experience in general, and so in lieu of an average rating being available on Steam, I'm going to rate this positively, but really it's what I would consider very mid. "Hike Isle is scattered with different objects you can find and pick them up for achievements. Can you find them all?" i didn't find anything i was able to pick up. You get the achievements once to enter the locations you are tasked to find. "Hike Isles length will vary from player to player. Discovering all the locations and mysteries will approximately take 1 to 2 hours." Even walking across the island(s) two or three times to find everything, it took me barely more than 30 minutes. You can maybe get 1 or 2 full hours out of it if you are the kind of person to stare at the every repeating copies of bushes/flowers/trees. The are no mysteries, only locations. "Take a boat to a Mysterious Island in the middle of nowhere and head on foot to discover all the locations, buildings and secrets the Island keeps inside!" The locations are the buildings and secrets you can find. There is nothing more to it. "Start the biggest Hike on the mysterious Isle! Discover the massive island piece by piece. Explore tens of unique locations and structures built on the Island by others. What kinds of mysterious things will you find?" Tens of unique locations, ahhh yes. There are exactly 10 locations to find. They are not very big or interesting either, very disappointing. There is a so-called `mansion` you can find, which is just a wooden shack a bit bigger than the other buildings you can find. It is half built and you cannot enter it. i am very disappointed by this game, walking sims don't have to offer much content imo but even just adding a note to each loaction that adds up to some sort of story would have been enough to make this one worthwhile. Sadly, you just walk around aimlessly and without any reward for 30 minutes and then close the game. Sure, for 20 cents this isn't bad but it's still 20 cents i would have saved had i knows this beforehand.
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
This is the third of five games that the developer released in under 3 months. That should give you a hint about its quality. In this game, you walk around a GIANT island which has clearly been procedurally generated looking for 10 landmarks. There are no interactions, no story, and no gameplay aside from walking. Outside the landmarks, the entire island consists of a few tree, rock, grass, and bush models scattered around randomly. And... that's it. There's nothing to see or do aside from walking. There's no narration. The music consists of the same few (public domain?) tracks the developer puts into every game. I walked for five minutes, seeing no distinguishing features anywhere aside from a trail, until I found a bridge. I walked (off-trail) for another five minutes, and found a "mansion" (a box house that looks like something from Rust or Ark Survival Evolved). I walked for another five minutes and found a boat field. I suspect beating the game requires over an hour of extremely boring wandering, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. This game feels extremely lazy. If you want to play a game about walking through a forest with literally nothing else to it, then try this out, but otherwise, avoid this game.

disappointed. The game delivered exactly what it said. Needed more to keep playing. Walk the island is minutes. no compass, no pointers to help guide. you have a list of 10 things top find. They are not on the path. i found 5 and stopped caring. I have deleted the game and I have no interest to go back to it. YES- for delivering exactly what you promised and NO-because there is nothing more to the game, nothing to keep me coming back.

Disappointed -_- As soon as I saw the game on Steam, I added it to my wishlist, but as soon as I played it, it turned out to be the opposite :( 💢You are only walking walking & walking the whole game to reach some places on your mission paper. 🧩 You can never interact with trees, flowers or even the big world around you. ❌The developer did not take advantage of the large world he created in order to make the player enjoy because of that I felt the game is really empty and boring. What is the point of the " big world " when I can't interact with it or feel the environment around me? 🔹Nature and graphics are simple but also very beautiful. 🔹Lovely music and soundtrack. ❌ I don't recommend this game. 💢
