Probably the most boring autoshooter game I have ever played.

Hero Survival shows real promise through its weapon, enemy, and character variety, that makes its core gameplay loop entertaining but without many permanent upgrades it doesn’t feel rewarding. The bright graphics bring a more cheerful art style to the survivors-like genre and helps the game stand out against others in the subgenre. However, it feels light on features. I suggest keeping an eye on development and seeing if they enhance the game in the recent future. Right now it’s a bit of a hollow game with a very shiny coat on it. As for performance on the steam deck it runs really well. I had no issues what so ever and got good battery life. Full review here- https://writebase.co.uk/games/hero-survival-game-review/

Do not buy this game, The devs have abandoned it and it has so many bugs. Hit boxes arent accurate so you will get hit when you see you shouldnt. Your shotgun and other guns will just stop working (see other reviews confirming its been a bug for over a year). No button optimisation. When you level up if your next to a mob already you will get hit when you select your "upgrade". I see no positives in this game. Probably the worst wave based game I have played and I love this genre. Save your money and buy anything else.

A solid BETA but not ready. It has a good setup but is missing a lot, levels are mostly stat upgrades that only last for that round but no way of checking what stats you have, no sounds to indicate you took damage, no real meta progression. The game is kill to get gold to unlock new characters & new starter new weapon but you have to unlock all the other weapons before you can see what's next. Needs work I can't recommend this game in this state.

Pretty boring game. In the beginning you choose a class which gives you access to permanent upgrades on level up, for example, bomber - 30% chance to drop a bomb after killing an enemy, +5% chance to drop a bomb, +1 to bomb radius, +1 to bomb damage, 30% chance to drop an extra bomb, +5% chance to drop an extra bomb, 30% chance to drop a bomb when killing enemy with a bomb, etc. But this are all permanent upgrades you are going to get on level up for the rest of the run. The other upgrades will be temporary until the next level up. Like, +2 damage until next level up, +15% speed until next level up, etc. Why are temporary upgrades a thing - I have no idea, there is no reason to take them unless you got unlucky and there is no permanent choice at all. Lets say you take one - you will be stronger until next level up but then you just lose it and become worse than if you choose a weaker but permanent upgrade as there are more enemies now but you basically skipped a level. Each run is also divided into several stages with increasing amount of time for each with stage 9 having a boss. After the stage you get a choice of 4 weapons or items. Weapons that you already have show no info so you have to remember either starting screen when you started a run or previous choices to compare new weapon to old ones. All items have both positive and negative effects, so when you decide to increase one stat you lose some other. There are no permanent upgrades, you just collect coins during the stage and then unlock new heroes and new starting weapon. That's all. Also no info about stats at all. Armor, intelligence, luck, greed - no info about them...
