I have mixed feelings about this product. I enjoyed the story and its premise quite a lot- a woman coming to terms with her partner’s inevitable death and having to confront it as it happens. I enjoyed the two main girls and their voice acting, I found the art style to be rather pretty and enjoyed the symbolic flower transitions. I also enjoyed the story switching in time between transitions, and the music was pleasant all though nothing to write home about.
But the translation is unfortunately, pretty bad. While I didn’t have too many instances where I didn’t know what was supposed to be said, I consistently had to reread things to figure out what exactly was wrong with the sentence. The tense was off, sometimes names were spelled incorrectly, and occasionally sentence structure just did not make much sense. There were also issues of the original Chinese text displaying, but at the very least it would followup with the english text.
However, there was a scene with absolutely no english translation, meaning I had no choice but to open google translate on my phone and try and keep up.
Along with that, it also seems like some things were not coded right. At various points of the story, the name of who’s speaking would just no longer be present, meaning you had to try and figure out who was talking with an already poor translation. It ended up being a struggle to read and took longer than it probably should have to get through it.
But there were enough high points to this where I do feel guilty not recommending it. I did really enjoy it, but the english translation definitely did not do it justice- despite it still showing great potential. I definitely cannot recommend the english translation.
