As for me, the gameplay is more boring than in the original, and the missions are kind of repetitive and the units are dull - I just don’t feel like playing as them.
And it’s so annoying to play against Nod with their invisibility, artillery that hits halfway across the map, and defensive structures.
The cutscenes are still just as good, of course, although the plot itself - with its somewhat cartoonish 90s-style post-apocalypse and mutants - is meh

great game, a futuristic take on the classic C&C game. to be honest if they would have kept the same graphics on a new installment, an made a really good story. they could create seasonal dlc which is just one long story told over smaller seasons. with the lower graphics ppl wouldn't need super high end rigs and towers to play the game.

This is the first true videogame I ever played as a child. I say "true" because I am excluding the Library computer games. Tiberian Sun tried to do so much so early, the result of that is a game engine that is capable of so much, but simultaneously the most limiting thing to mod. I've never played another RTS that has tunnel, deformable terrain, growing ice, and dynamic lighting all at the same time. I love this game so much. And the mammoth tank is so sexy.

Its a classic RTS. It may be pixelated, and it may be 26 years old. With that stated, lower your standards for graphics and I promise you'll enjoy yourself. The missions are in some instances testing of your mind and it is refreshing. For a "killing time" game, youll find yourself not killing time but investing it for your enjoyment. You will get sucked in. You wont regret it if you enjoy RTS/base building. PS, I played this as a 10 year old and have allways come back to it. It may be the nestalgia, or the brief time where i dont need to be an adult but nether the less. It holds a sweet spot in my heart.

Nice game but I can't recommend the Steam Version, since it's not the best way to play, due to it's 90's Jankeness for both the singleplayer and the PvP gamemode plus resolution problems. It's recommended to play a community patched build with the addition of the sectioned building tabs similar to the one in Red Alert 2.
Tiberian Sun would highly benefit from a modern Remaster even more so than Red Alert 2.
