"Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes" is a nice spinoff of the iconic "Might and Magic"-series, taking place before "Heroes of Might and Magic 5". Originally released for handheld, this ported version is a way to play it on steam. It is an unique strategy-puzzler: The mechanics are simple but deep; it is quite intriguing overall.
The story is kind of standard, but okay, the five different campaigns can feel a little bit samey, but the factions play different enough and you get some challenges in terms of puzzle-battles and unique enemy encounters. That being said: Some unit combination feel stronger than others and the artifacts vary in terms of general strength and usability.
The final campaign
is a big gauntlet and not very diverse. You play every character at least once which is nice, but the final boss is quite challenging and sadly your spell (that you want at lvl 10, so grind a little) has random chance to hit or miss him
Still there is quite some fun to be had; the singleplayer can be 100% casually in around 25 hours plus you get the multiplayer that can be quite endearing.
I like the franchise and follow it for decades now and this one is a really off entry that deserves a closer look. Give it a try, if you are a strategy fan.

This UBISOFT game has a blatantly MISLEADING DESCRIPTION, which is why I'm giving it a negative review.
This game has NO 2v2 Local Multiplayer, and 1v1 Local is still restricted to Hotseat multiplayer, meaning you have to share a controller between you and a friend like in the original version on Steam. If you want this game for local 1v1, or 2v2 multiplayer that was present in the PS3/Xbox 360 versions long ago like I was HOPING was going to be included in the "Definitive Edition" here, you're straight out of luck. This is just a slightly prettier version of the original game, with brand new servers, so if you own that, you don't need this one.

Awesome game! I know this game from the Nintendo DS, and I fell in love with it. This new version is awesome too! I’m so happy to play this game again.
