The concept of walking around a spooky house solving puzzles and exploring new areas is always a good one. Unfortunately, a lot of decisions lead to this game feeling really awkward. There is a great deal of jump-scares early on, almost to a silly degree. Some of them the audio is blaringly loud (I took my headphones off multiple times). The "puzzles" so far are entirely checking cabinets for items and then eventually using those items on the right locations which then give you other items to use in another location. The only time an actual puzzle has appeared so far was putting the four weights in and that was decent but then for some reason the keypad had the keycode written on the wall next to it too. The story has not really come together to anything coherent so far, but maybe it does later.
The game also, for some reason, features both limited inventory space and limited sprint-speed. Sprinting is exceedingly slow in the first place and the sprint-o-meter runs out within seconds. In Resident Evil, you have limited inventory making for interesting decisions about your loadout--do you bring healing items? Which weapon? Extra ammo? Will you need any key items? Here you have no control over your inventory (no item box) so when you run out of inventory space you just have to go walk to wherever you need to use a key-item and then tediously return to get your new item (all while waiting for your sprint to recover).
There also seems to be some very basic combat in this game but it has been pretty meagre so far. For context, I got to the part where you get the gun in the bathroom before spending an extra 15-20 minutes walking around trying to find out what to do before giving up. An enemy spawns after getting the gun, but no other events seem to be triggered. My best guess is I missed one of the wooden animals in one of the dozens of cabinets across the home and need to pixel hunt to find it, but sadly I think I'm just ending it here. I think with some polishing and patching the game could be pretty cool (reducing the jump scares, audio improvements, more inventory space, more sprinting (or better yet no stamina system), and more logical/not-obscure progression), but as is it is just rather unpleasant and tedious rather than scary sadly.

this game is incredibly confusing to figure out and is honestly a fever dream. I had to go to the deep dark depths of reddit to find the smallest amount of help and even with that I couldn't finish the game and probably won't try again.
Also, the typos in the dialogue drove me insane lmfao

I played this game a while back but ran into the game breaking bug that so many others mentioned. In one of those reviews, the developer replied that the game had been updated and the issue was fixed. So I though that's great, deleted my entire game and started a new game. However it's even worse now! I have been running around the small area on the 1st floor forever and almost every door is locked. All I can do is pick up candles, matches and 1 weight. No events "trigger" anything to unlock any doors. So I tried it yet AGAIN, and the result was the same exact thing. I give up!!!!! Who makes an update that breaks the game even worse than before??? I'm outta here!!!!!

I really enjoyed this game. It has some great jump scares, good horror ambience and some cool puzzles! It was a little bit glitchy, especially towards the end but nothing that you cant figure your way through.
Defs recommend for any indie horror enthusiasts

I've enjoyed the developers other series "Lost Alone" so I was looking forward to this! "Who Knocks" feels familiar to the Lost Alone series, but is introducing new elements and new scares! Was fun and recommend it for the price. Would definitely like to see more puzzles though!

Surprisingly cheap for it's runtime, which should be around 4 to 5 hours, not counting, at least in my case, the times I got lost or failed to see a key item, Daniele Doesn't Matter's new game has some very creepy vibes. I'm rarely scared with games but Who Knocks did made me jump more than once. Some balance is needed, specially when it comes to key items and how they are rendered and ultimately with the combat system, which, in my opinion, will probably infuriate some people. A special attention is needed to it's manual save system, and, if you are like me, you'll probably forget and be forced to repeat some tasks.
Once again, the price got me by surprise and it will surprise you as well. The game is long, without overstaying it's welcome.
Totally recommended if you are looking for something new.
I would also like to thank the developer for being so understanding and supportive, which I'm pretty sure that without his help, I would probably still be stuck looking for a key that was right in front of me...
I made a longplay video to support with some of the harder things to spot, and you can check it here:

The big problem is that during the second stage, the game does not properly record saves. After dying to seemingly unlimited spawning enemies, the game resets you at the beginning of that section with your entire inventory wiped. Kind of killed the drive to continue the game and I'm pretty sure I wasn't that far from finishing it completely.
The game itself was pretty decent. Very vague at some points and leaves you questioning yourself often. This is fine and everything was able to be found eventually, however, some items are spawned in later and it really makes for a lot of unnecessary backtracking.

This game started out fantastic. Great atmosphere, good scares, and pretty cool story line. That is until it broke. If you try to save it before somebody knocks on the door, the game will glitch out when you try to answer the door. Basically it becomes a stalemate. IF you manage to get pass THAT, once you save the game and quit entirely, the next time you try to play you basically start over. You will start where you left off, but all the doors that you had unlocked prior will be locked again and no way to progress through the game. All items are you collected disappear and the game is unplayable. Ill give it another go if they manage to fix those bugs, otherwise, don't waste your time.
