Beach Invasion 1944, is one of those games that can be fun in an hour or over five hours. It takes some tactics, which weapons to open first, where to place the minefields, which guns to use to shoot down which airplanes, and when to call in the artillery. I enjoy it when I need a fun break and do not want to commit to five hours for a more serious game. I will admit I played it four hours one time and got to Wave 28 before I was DEFEATED. That was a little frantic.
The cons: There is no-way an Eighty-Eight will not take out a Sherman, or a Higgins Boat (at least the one I had in this game did not take one out a from the side or lightly armored front) , or a half-track with one hit. I was also surprised the The Schwere Maschinengewehr 08, a water cooled machine gun, would heat up so fast, with controlled three-round bursts.
Sometimes, you just need to have something take your mind off of the day, without getting to involved. This is a great game for that.

Oh my God. Not even JFK reloaded had me feeling half as evil and ashamed to enjoy as this game. I felt so bad. But it was very fun at the same time. Well worth the $3-4. Just be prepared to answer for your sins. Sorry grandpa!
