The idea sounds really funny, but the execution is janky with a very early development feeling. Feels even more weird when this is post-1.0, which means this is the complete version. Movement feels sluggish, enemies are 90% just walking at you for contact damage and make no noise to indicate if you're being flanked. Bosses are just bullet sponges with sometimes slightly variable movesets, but most of them also just move at you to touch you for contact damage. No guns really feel different from each other besides firerate. I have no idea if me picking a flamethrower is any better than the poisonthrower. I don't know if the sword or whip is better. There looks like there's probably relic synergies with weapon types, but I've almost never encountered any weapon with those attributes, so I have no clue. Not sure if it's a case of bad luck, or too many keywords and effects. TLDR; It feels like a game that's been expanded on repeatedly without going back to check on the basics

The early versions of this game had a much more satisfying gameplay loop and a more acceptable rate of unlocks. The current version has more characters and levels, but has a long and unfun grind to actually see the new content, while diluting its mechanical uniqueness.

A Guide to Florida Residential Life
If you've ever wanted a crash course in florida residential life, just play Vampire Hunters. This chaotic bullet hell game is the most accurate simulation I've ever seen. You've got the humid struggle for survival, constantly dodging creatures that have no business existing. They're not monsters, they're your neighbors - the guy who insists on watering his driveway, the ghoul with a pet gator. Your only job is to survive their bizarre, unpredictable movements while grabbing the random junk they leave behind. It’s basically a hilarious, high-speed tuesday in florida, and the best part is the final boss is way less stressful than a homeowners association meeting. I dont even know whats happening half of the time, but I guess neither do floridians. But I do know that guns make pew pew. and a lot of guns make a lot of pew pew.

It is what it says on the tin. Trash food time waster. Does it well enough. If you like the genre, worth a shot.

I cant believe how good this is. If you ever wanted to play roguelike Serious Sam this is basicly the closest thing. There are so many enemies on the screen and 14 weapons at once lmao

This is essentially the video game equivalent of a popcorn flick, and I mean that in a mostly positive way. Wearing its influences of Doom and the Bullet Heaven genre (namely Vampire Survivors) on its sleeve, Vampire Hunters is a pretty simple title to grasp and play, though like the latter inspiration, it can get hectic later on in its levels, especially with any self-imposed challenges. Even with its skill trees, constellation system, and unlocks, this game isn't necessarily the deepest thing out there. But it can be an excellent way to kill a half an hour at a time if the loop it provides scratches that particular itch for you. I wouldn't recommend it at its full price of $15 USD, sadly, unless more content is introduced, unless you were just a Boomer Shooter enthusiast. Try to nab it when it's on sale if you can.
