Not really a hard game by any means just too tedious with crafting and no real easy way to travel between schools.
I really hate the equipment system and crafting in this game.
Still not a bad game and I still recommend it to fans of dungeon crawlers.

After about 95 hours of mapping dungeons, hunting enemy encounters, finding loot, and grinding the arena for money, I have to say that Class of Heroes was an excellent experience! Being able to create your own customized team with your own unique characters was awesome. Unlocking new and more expansive dungeons was a treat, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I continued playing the game even beyond getting 100% achievements because I wanted to see the story through to its conclusion, as well as 100% all the maps. And I was not disappointed!
Some things about the game are a little archaic. The menu system can be a little clunky. You can't target specific enemies, only the general group they belong to. Your back row will not be able to attack unless they have a ranged weapon or magic (though the game is very generous with "MP". You regain it on levelup, and MP is unique to the spell level which usually means you generally won't run out unless you get magic sapped a bit too often from enemy attacks). The game doesn't do a very good job of explaining what most things do. At one point you need to warp while in battle to reach a hidden area and the boss hiding within, and this can lead to certain death if your characters cannot float... OR they all die if they get thrust into a wall. Very trollsy! I don't recommend warping while in battle unless it's for that one part of the game lol.
I would recommend that you make your characters float as soon as possible! You don't need a team of characters that float inherently (I had only 2 characters that had this ability. The rest I just equipped with float accessories over time), but it is helpful that they all float for some dangerous shenanigans as I mentioned, as well as when it comes to mapping. Sometimes you'll need to traverse deep water that also doubles as a no magic zone, and some labyrinths even have damaging shock tiles littered around. There is no downside that I saw to having the team float! I also recommend getting at least a few characters to learn wizardry spells as a mage for 22 levels before cross classing them to your desired class so they can keep the Ragnarok spell and have 9 magic charges. This is a guaranteed revive and HP heal, so it is well worth it in a pinch! It consumes all the MP of that spell level when used, though, so 9 charges would mostly be useful for if you want that character to also toss out Big Bang to help aoe down everything.
I beat the main game with my characters mostly in their 30s and two at level 40. I only ever had 3 characters (my back row) know Ragnarok. I beat most of the early post game content with my characters in their late 40s. And the final post game content was beaten with my characters in the late 60s, one at level 70, one at 82 for the level 80 achievement, and one at 55. The only advanced class I had in my main party was monk. My other characters were 2 fighters (I had planned on making them advanced classes but I just enjoyed seeing their HP rise ridiculously that I never got to it lol), a priest, a mage, and a bishop. I played the game on the normal difficulty and generally never really got stuck for long. The one quest that did hinder me a bit was resolved by checking other trade posts around the world and buying the item I was missing (a superripe orange).
If you enjoy first person dungeon crawlers, I think you will really have a great time with this one! This game also regularly goes on sale bundled together with the second game. Get them on sale if you're curious! I don't think you'll be disappointed. I certainly got my money's worth and I'm looking forward to more games in this series!
