Playtime: 404 minutes

I just had to buy it because of my username. The game has potential. The cards look decent, the environment looks alright, and the frog theme is very cute. It tries to be something along the lines of Fights in Tight Spaces and Into the Breach, and that particular roguelike niche is not overcrowded yet. The problem is that it’s just not a polished product. The characters are easily broken, mostly because of the movement card "returning" to your hand after each kill, and the "party" mechanic giving you access to additional engines. The economy—especially around deck thinning—is broken in the player's favor. The levels feel same-y. The UI and controls are not good (not sure who decided drag-and-drop controls were a great idea for a tactics game). You can't rotate isometric grid levels for some reason. The "theme packs" in character decks don't offer much variety; the full characters feel like the barebones starter decks you'd see in other deckbuilding roguelikes. The current state of the game is what I would expect from an early access title somewhere around the middle of its EA period. Sadly, it's been a while since the game received any updates. It costs about as much as a cup of coffee in my region—and that’s about what it’s worth. It’s a decent purchase if you like the frogs-with-guns-and-swords theme—you’ll get a few runs out of it. Otherwise, you’re probably better off choosing another roguelike if you’re expecting more than a few hours of playtime. I very much hope to return to this comment later—if and when the developers improve the game—and leave a positive review. The game has soul.
