Its a cute game. Not incredibly challenging, so if that's what you're looking for then this is not the game for you. This is the sort of game I would use to introduce my nephew to this genre and I'd be interested to see how it plays for my friends who are "really bad at games"
It definitely feels like the sort of game you'd use to teach, since the mechanics are not terribly advanced and there doesn't feel like an overwhelming amount of options. While the weapons do feel like they're each different, a lot of them feel similar enough that I'm not sure there's *that* much difference, aside from the Magic Wand, which I haven't played with very much. From my initial testing it feels like Bo Staff is the strongest in the game by far. One thing I didn't really like is that you only seem to be able to purchase 3 new cards for the upgrade deck each run, and I'm not sure if they're random or progressive but the gameplay is so simple that I don't feel compelled to play it more and find out. It does seem like there are different builds but the game effectively boils down to a boss rush and trying not to get hit on the way.
After dying, the game gives you the option to play on an easier or harder difficulty, and reading the descriptions I wondered if it was set to the easier setting by default, but I selected the harder of the 2 and the game seemed the same.
The game isn't that expensive and the story is cute. If you're ok with it being pretty simple and want something small and cute, then give the game a try. If you consider yourself to be bad at games, maybe this is a game you'd enjoy. If you're trying to find something to introduce to a child and don't want to overwhelm them, I think this is a good candidate. If your favorite game series is Dark Souls or anything else made by Fromsfot, save your money.

Just beat the game twice now, its really fun! The music is great and I really like the art style and gameplay. It's not the most difficult, but that doesn't mean you can just swing and win without a worry. The deck building aspect is cool and the cards themselves are fun, even if a few of them are meh (some of the jumping/rolling ones). The bosses are great too, especially the last one and the widow, her design is cool :3.
Some things that would be really cool!
- Synergies between different elements or specific cards! I feel like synergies are a big aspect of rogue-like games, and help make each run more unique!
- Parrying, dude has a shield but doesn't use it :(. Balance it how you like, whether it just prevents damage or stuns, etc.
- More weapons, or weapons that have unique properties to them! Maybe the magic staff buffs attacks from the buddy or the staff uses those attacks? The hammer maybe stuns enemies briefly or more knockback, things like that!
- More to do after beating the game besides getting a faster time, maybe a hardcore mode or instead of only being able to unlock cards, lock the weapons aswell and have the player do challenges to unlock them, same with card slots too maybe?
- Different endings, maybe you join the deevil in his quest for world domination for some reason!
- If not parrying, blocking a hit or 2 before the shield breaks would be cool. Maybe shield bashing and different shields?
Thats all :3. A fun game! Buy it now now now now.

This is a really charming game that clearly has a lot of love and effort put into it. The attacks feel crisp, and there are many combos you can put together.
The story is fun and there are a lot of Easter Eggs.
I appreciate the Sonic the Hedgehog approach to a bullet heaven game.
However, there are two main issues it suffers from that I’m not sure can be fixed at this stage of the game:
- The maps are small, and there are loading times between areas. Even taking a single step into a new section triggers a load screen, and most barrels you jump into also lead to a loading screen. This is the first survivor-like game I’ve experienced with such a system, and it disrupts the game's overall flow. I would prefer to fight in a single contained area and have new areas unlock, rather than facing frequent loading screens back-to-back.
- The game has an element of dimensionality, with cliffs and ledges, and enemies can jump on their own. However, it’s not always clear what constitutes flat ground versus a cliff. It can be difficult to determine if a boss is six feet above you or right next to you. To improve this, there needs to be a visual indicator—such as shadows—to better convey the game's dimensionality. Alternatively, the game could adopt a 2.5D perspective or simply utilize a flat design.
I'm going to be checking back on this one because I think it's a strong debut and this game developer has a bright future.
