Eight years later and the world will see a second rebirth. Witness a story over energi once again
Alphadia Neo is a 2022 installment in the Alphadia series. Originally released for smartphones in Japan in March 2022 and worldwide in August 2022, the game was later ported to PC with several slight enhancements, though unfortunately, there is no full-screen option. The story is set on a planet called Olden, which was struck by a massive meteor that brought ruin to the world. Its civilization was nearly lost, and the impact's effect on the land was immeasurable. However, ruin wasn't the only thing the meteorite brought; the three crystallized pieces of the meteorite released three types of life energy, known as Energi, which helped resurrect the civilization. 800 years later, a war over Energi will determine the planet's fate and uncover the mystery of the crystals for the final time. You follow the story of Alt, a young man buried in a cave with lost memories, and Souffle, an exiled princess whose kingdom was destroyed. Together, they aim to end the war over Energi and prevent a mad emperor from conquering the world, with the help of their companions and allies, while uncovering the mystery of the crystals along the way. If you've played any Exe-Create RPG before, you may find it similar, with some exceptions in the battle and skill systems, and several quality-of-life improvements from previous games. Like with other Alphadia titles, Alphadia Neo has six different elemental elements of Energi you can learn, along with unique tactics and skills for each character to master and utilize in battle. One of the features includes a companion who can detect enemy behavior. Fishing is a fresh addition to the game, despite being a clear replacement for the arena. It's a fun mini-game to take a break from battles and relax if you like or challenge your friends if they’re up for the challenge of conquering the ocean and earning gold medals for every fish caught! Overall, Alphadia Neo is a decent RPG for casual fans (non-KEMCO fans) and a great addition to the Alphadia series. KEMCO fans will likely enjoy it, despite its predictable story and a few plot holes. What makes this game particularly interesting, in my opinion, is that it finally expands on the concept of the Energi crystals that was introduced in Alphadia IV, bringing it to the rest of the world. And maybe we might even get Alphadia IV remake in the future (which is already happening — 2025 edit). Pros: Well-written story Fun battle system with lots of options Thirty sidequests and three postgame dungeons Fun fishing minigame Good soundtracks Cons: No option to cancel/skip a turn Some QoL featrures are locked behind the Orion Stone Menu Some unexplained plot holes

I finished the game with much grinding (at the end) at around 27 hours playtime. Like with most of Exe games I started it (and finished it!!!) with Hard difficult. This time some of the fights were hard to win. Anyway starting with the plot: you have your usual bunch of teens who are saving the world. During their (linear) quests there are many of those who betrayed them...in fact every of the higher ranks is a scumbag. Your party consists of an guy without memory, an healer, a former drunkard and a clone. And of course there are some more or less funny scenes with them. Now this game is a little different than other Exe games (I mentioned that it is harder to win against certain bosses). The differences are: there is no arena, no merging your weapons and no farming for better attribut potions, and there is fishing; also you can play with different settings for skill and formation. Oh, and your hightest level is 99 (but you can use potions to boost your attributs). Still in the game is the shop (you don't need to buy the cheat dlc) and a daily roulette and quest system (3 times each real day). With even only a little grinding level 99 is an easy goal. And that is one of it major problems...because the normal enemies are just 1 hit and gone and the treasure chests are useless...I bought a good weapon at the very beginning and finished the game with it. After you finished the game you get the optional content: it is a little small...only 3 dungeons. You can finish them within 30 minutes.
