I was pleasantly surprised by this holiday game that deals with life and career changes as well as being alienated from and suffocated by your family. All of the main characters have solid personalities—I especially liked Noel's conversations with Natalie—so it's easy to get invested in their stories. Eliot is the sweetest, most thoughtful LI, and I love him! Character sprites and UI (I really liked the font) are great. Overall, this game is adorable without being saccharine, and I recommend it.

Too damn freaking awesome! Too damn worth it! Too damn making me actually care about characters and what happens to them and... Those "Hallmark" movie categories? SHOULD LEARN from this game/story!!! MC is fine and understandable. Very relatable. Natalie is a cool and a supportive person. The kid is NOT annoying and is actually fun to read about. Elliot is... Everything great. The only thing that would make him better is if he was a secret assassin. That's a joke. Nothing can make him better. His BETTERNESS is at CAPACITY. What a guy to dream about... Story is charming and a good read. Choices are direct and you know what to pick right away. I don't remember the last time I cheered for two characters to get together this much... Until now. There is even a surprise at the end! Who cares if it isn't Christmas? Reading this game made me feel good. Remembering what it was like to be surrounded by family and Christmas spirit... Something some of us are unable to recapture anymore. Thank you for those great feelings and great characters and... It was more than worth it! :D :) =)

Wrapped with a Kiss is such a heartfelt game. It is like a Hallmark Christmas movie put into a cute visual novel.
The Story
After Noel becomes blacklisted from the business world and loses her job with no prospects of finding another she moves back to the small town of Hawthorn with her sister Natalie and her niece Zoey. The story is a story of romance, and the relationship that blooms between Noel and the handsome, kind carpenter Elliot. And in between this budding romance Noel is trying to navigate her way in a new town while trying to figure out who she is for the first time in her life. Family plays an important role in this story. Noel learns what it means to be an aunt to Zoey while reconnecting with her sister after being distant for a long time. The family dynamic is the meat of the novel and the romance fills it out. It is heartfelt, loving and well written.
Features
The game is your usual set up for most visual novels. You get to make choices (as Noel) along the way that shape her relationships with those around her. I have only played through once and got the good ending and I am guessing the other is the bad where the romance does not work out. Now I do have some gripes about the graphics. The art of the characters is gorgeous but the story takes place at Christmas time and honestly the backgrounds do not feel, for the most part, Christmas-y. You get some scenes of snow or some trees in the odd scene but when the story describes the Christmas Market or the family decorating the tree you do not see any of these scenes. The game is seriously lacking the look of Christmas. Which is disappointing. The soundtrack is full of Christmas tunes but it cannot enhance the look of the game without the graphics to match the mood. Also one big gripe…we waited all game for the romance and with our happy ending, I believe, there should have been some artwork of “the kiss”. I was really sad to see the ending, despite getting a good ending, did not end with some nice artwork of Elliot and Noel sharing a kiss. There are rare moments of great artwork in the game (not many but a few) of what I call artwork of “special moments”. The art that is done in a different style to the main game art, usually has more details and is done more as a finished piece than a game sprite. So I was hoping for this big special moment and the end of them kissing and nothing. That special moment is usually the reward for getting certain endings or achieving certain moments in visual novels, to see it missing was sad.
Overall Experience
Overall I really loved my first play-through of the game. The writing is truly heartfelt and as I stated in the intro, like a great Christmas Hallmark tale. It just needed the backgrounds to really push that Christmas feel and a few more artworks showing the special moments shared between the characters. For the price, which is a great price, I do recommend playing it for a feel good tale. 🎄 Some of my favourite screen caps of “special moments” are shown below of my first play-through. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3139591984 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3139591953

This was a great game! Voice acting was perfect for the game, lots of good characterization, sentimental moments, heartwarming, an ideal kind of friendly town, great Christmas traditions, nice music, a good storyline with no strings left untied, great art, great CG's, well designed characters, and the main heroine doesn't just pursue romance but pursues career too. I really liked the main character - I thought she was relatable. Although, in the area I work, eight years makes you a senior even though for her she was still struggling haha. I grew up with games with characters my age and even as I grow older, it's nice to see games with mature, older relatable characters who deal with career and life instead of school days. I literally was crying I felt so touched by this relatable and sweet Christmas game! I knew it was a winner when I bought it and I'm eternally grateful for the experience. This game is literally healing and warm like Christmas should be.

This game is very cute and very much a Hallmark movie in game format. I honestly didn't to expect to like it as much as I did. It was a pleasant surprise. There are $20 VNs that aren't as well written as this. Not only that, it also had some good lessons and it has a good female protagonist too. I won't get in to all of it because I think you need to experience for yourself, but this is definitely a feel good game. It made me feel warm and fuzzy, right in time for the holidays. Elliot is adorable and I wish I could live in the town.
